Marinello booked with wife's murder
WWL radio personality Vince Marinello was booked with second-degree murder this afternoon in the shooting death of his estranged wife.

Marinello turned himself in at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna at 3 p.m., an hour before Sheriff Harry Lee planned a news conference on the case.

The Sheriff's Office, in a statement, said Marinello donned a disguise Aug. 31 and drove with a bicycle in his vehicle to Old Metairie. He parked near an office building where his wife was attending a counseling session, then rode the bike to the building and waited for her, the statement said.

Liz Marinello was shot twice in the face in the parking lot. She died the next day.

Vince Marinello had initially told investigators that he was in Jackson, Miss., at the time of the shooting, and his attorney denied any involvement in the case.

Deputies booked Marinello on the murder charged about 20 hours after executing search warrants at his Katrina-damaged home in Lakeview, his nearby FEMA trailer and a neighbor's house.

Marinello was accompanied by two lawyers, criminal attorney Donald "Chick" Foret and David Courcelle, who has represented Marinello in a divorce case, when he arrived at the jail today. The attorneys left without comment.

Marinello was wearing a red athletic shirt and black workout pants.

i believe vince was just coming on when buddy d was heading out, ( of tv, that is) god, what really brings someone to murder? once you pull that trigger, you can never take it back........... always walk away, get out, go somewhere else, if you're thinking about this.........and seek some help as well...................smitty
