stallworth lighting it up

old DS is kickin with the eagles im the 1st half

Dhatboi 09-10-2006 01:54 PM

oh you knew he would in the first place......

LSUJeremy 09-10-2006 01:59 PM

Yeah, he's so talented that he caused the blown coverage that left him 20yds open where he was able to make an incredible catch on a ball thrown right to him and then use his incredible speed to jog in to the EZ.

Dhatboi 09-10-2006 02:08 PM

Stop being mad over the guys success. Points blank hes doing good so far in philly. Dont get mad at him or down his sucess.....

D24pick 09-10-2006 02:13 PM

Good for my FFT

Dhatboi 09-10-2006 02:20 PM

lol same here...i knew to pick him up.But Colston is really lighting it up to be his first game :D

And boi oh boi. Will someone stop letting Charlie Frye Run like He Michael Vick!

shrike3000 09-10-2006 03:31 PM

Good for Donte. I think its a darn good thing Colston played so well today. Makes the Stallworth trade sting alot less. Colston looks like a genuine future star.

foreverfan 09-10-2006 03:40 PM

6 catches 141 yards 1 TD. 20 dropped passes.

papz 09-10-2006 03:53 PM

He had a good game... I watched all of it. I can only remember one drop... give the man some credit because he was impressive. Now let's see if he can have two good games in a row.

shrike3000 09-10-2006 03:55 PM

The announcer to the Saints game said it best... Stallworths issue was he didnt feel he needed to show something at Training Camp. With a new coach coming in he should have tried to prove himself much more than he did. He isnt TO, he cant get away with skipping the preseason and still count on having a job.

gandhi1007 09-10-2006 03:59 PM

Colston's the real deal fellas! And.....I wouldn't really call that one a drop....more like a hell of a play by Cleveland's CB. You could tell that one pissed Colston off. Joe Horn looked shaky & Brees has still not impressed me yet. The one thing I can say about him, though, is he didn't kill our drives by turning over the ball. Kudos to the defense. Other than the CB's, they were extremely impressive today. Anyway....a wins a win!

shrike3000 09-10-2006 04:03 PM

I think Horn was hurt by double coverage and by several throws that were short or late. Brees clearly needs to get back into game form, but I was expecting him to need a little time to get back to his Pro Bowl form. His game management and lack of stupid mistakes did imress me, lets get his accuracy back and we have what we have needed for a long, long time.

WVSaint 09-10-2006 04:04 PM

i thought brees managed the offense really well. he kept us in the game and gave us drives when we need them. everytime i thought cleveland was gonna take the momentum he marched us down the field and put points on the board.

saintswhodi 09-10-2006 04:25 PM

Man, some people said we should wait to see what Stallworth could do with a better QB. 6 catches, 141 yards and a TD??? Wow. Colston is a beast though. We need to see how each does against better competition as well. I mean Houston and Cleveland aren't exactly world beaters.

The post I responded to was about his TD catch, and there was nothing special about it.

spkb25 09-10-2006 06:36 PM

stall killed me today, my brother in law started him. i think houstons d-backs are suspect though. either way 140+ yards and a td is a great day against anyone

That would be me. I shudder to think that mgmt pulled the trigger too quick on Stallworth guys... Colston's a stud. No question. I just hope Brees stops dropping the passes short and just throws the damn ball soon. He did the same thing all preseason and his timing isn't getting better. (Kinks in the shoulder?)

Pulled the trigger too quick? So the coaches should just allow the guy to do pretty much nothing in training camp when others are busting their behinds? Just because he had a good first game doesn't change the fact that he was a malcontent and didn't respond to new coaching. No one ever said he was a no-talent bum. But we have a better locker room without someone who doesn't want to be here.

Fact is we are on our way without him and I still think the team made the right decision. Good luck to him and all that, but we're doing just fine.

AllSaints 09-10-2006 07:00 PM

Im glad Stallworth is haveing success ......... good for him .........

Let's try to watch the language guys.

CHACHING 09-10-2006 09:31 PM

Stallworth had a great day, the moment he caught that pass I swore D Mc had a tear in his eye. D Mc was thinking "this is what its like......someone who will catch a pass, then bad mouth in the papers"

Stallworth may is by no means a major threat yet, but give hime time and coach that will not let him slack like Reed, and he will grow into a great talent. Kinda makes you wonder what would our team be late if Haslett would have been more strict or no nonsense like Payton.

Before anyone says Im riding Stallworth's jock, Im a fan of all the wide outs on our team, Henderson is going to go places with Payton and Colston is going to be a beast out there, I only wish we didnt sign Joe Horn that silly contract, Horn is a talent.....but he isnt going to get any younger out there.

gale44hawkins 09-11-2006 09:15 AM

Great for the Saints!!!!!!!! Let's turn that 4th into a 3rd rounder. :D

shrike3000 09-11-2006 09:58 AM

There is no doubt in my mind we got a 3rd Rounder for Stallworth. There is no chance they dont sign him. I know its just one game.... but they suck at WR and they need Stallworth badly.

hagan714 09-11-2006 10:21 AM

maybe this was the wake up call he needed. he saved me in my fantasy "money " play. yes as much as I knocked him I still drafted him as I have for the past 2 years. I wish him the best of luck. Once a saint always a saint

did you come back out of retirement??? feel like elwood blues, "we're getting the band back together" :D

D24pick 09-11-2006 08:55 PM

McNabb loves this guy in Philly, better than T.O there, but not here
He doesn't drop as amny passes as he used, too...He's more faster and elusive than T.O. will ever be in my opinion, McNabb needed a good WR with a chance to prove himself without the big mouth, Stall did that here on purpose just to get him a leading job
No doubt he can play, but he just didn't like the fact being in NO, he wanted a new start
Good start for Stall, and don't be surprised if he gets better #'s than T.O. did
