Injury Report/Payton on Fan Noise

knock on wood, we have been pretty fortunate since the rash during camp...

Center Jeff Faine (arch) and defensive tackle Brian Young (shoulder) joined fullback Mike Karney (calf) as the only players who didn’t participate in the team portion of Wednesday’s 2 1/2-hour practice.

Payton said he didn’t think the injuries to Faine and Young were significant and said Karney would be listed as doubtful for Monday’s game. An MRI performed on Young’s shoulder was negative, Payton said.

Jonathan Goodwin worked with the first-team offense in place of Faine, while Willie Whitehead took Young’s spot with the starting defensive unit.

Injury report

The Saints filed this injury report with the league office on Wednesday: Karney is doubtful, Young is questionable, and Faine and linebacker Terrence Melton (hamstring) are probable.
-----------------
“I’m looking forward to hearing them, but not just in the first quarter — it’s the same thing we tell our team, Payton said. “We’re looking forward to all four quarters of this advantage, and that can be a difference.

“Playing in the Dome on the road can be difficult and it becomes especially difficult when that crowd is going the whole time and there’s no quarter off or plays off the whole time. Now that takes a lot of energy, but it’s the same thing we tell our team.

"It's definitely going to be special," Brees said. "You just kind of look forward to the future. This is going to be my home for a long time.

"There are a lot of advantages to playing in a dome," Brees added. "Obviously, crowd noise — I hear that place gets rockin'. I'm sure it'll be rocking on Monday. Also, you play on turf, the speed of the game kind of increases. When you have a lot of fast guys like we do, then it can be a big benefit. It's definitely an advantage for us."

Geez, it's getting exciting already...

We’ve seen the Saints... Wait till you see the Dome
WWL and NOPF's Kenny Wilkerson on the Monday night home opener

...Saints head coach Sean Payton has mentioned several times this week how much he has heard about the Superdome crowd. He has been told how loud it can get in there and of course we all know what he is talking about. Well time to show him, folks, just what kind of fans we have in New Orleans. When the Falcons have the ball - and I mean the whole time they have it - the fans need to be on their feet and letting them have it. Disrupt them all you can. When they are in the huddle, at the line of scrimmage, heck even during timeouts, STAY LOUD.

awful quiet out there, no comments? come on, let me hear ya...

Could It Be TOO Loud In The Dome????

The noise was so loud in the early days of the franchise (Seattle) that the NFL passed a law to help silence it. The league invoked a rule that would penalize home teams if their fans were so loud that opposing quarterbacks could not be heard when calling signals.

Though the rule still exists, Holmgren said flags are rarely thrown for it because it tends to only further rile the home crowd. And referees tend to look the other way when quarterbacks complain.

This should be the loudest crowd that has ever been known to watch a game in the NFL.

I am hoping all who go to the game will ROCK THE HOUSE.
I want to feel the energy(through my T.V. in New Jersy).
If you know someone going to the game buy them some cough drops so their voices can keep it up for 4 quarters. Also the croud must quiet down when we have the ball.
This is THE spotlight game for the saints this year no matter what happens. SHOW THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WHAT TRUE SAINTS FANS ARE ALL ABOUT.

M A K E IT LOUD
