Stallworth At The Monday Night Game
"If everything is cool with me here, and I'm comfortable with the way my body is feeling, I want to go and check out the new stadium, see how everything is."
Stallworth won't have any problems getting a ticket. "I've still got a lot of friends there," he said. "Joe Horn is like my big brother. Reggie Bush is like my little brother. Joe has a (luxury) box. So does Deuce McAllister. "The more I think about it, the more I want to be there. It'll be fun." http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercu...s/15577224.htm |
RE: Stallworth At The Monday Night Game
Wow! That alone changes a lot about the way I feel about Donte Stallworth. It's kind of touching.
|
I hope he blows up out there in Philly. just not Oct. 15

I read this earlier. Very cool to read that he has no hard feelings and that he will be there. I just wish he had a better attitude in training camp.
|
I love that dude...
Go Stall..... |
Well well well...finally we get something from Donte Stallworth to lead us to believe that he cares about the Saints...it only took 5 years and giving up on him to get something out of him. Its a shame it had to be this way...i was a big fan of his the day he was drafted but he slowly gave me reasons not to root for him...but i do wish him luck.
|
Never doubted he cared he was just comfortable here. thats all. he needed a wake up call and I am glad he has responded to it. best of luck to him. I will always think of him as a saint.
|
He seemed to take a while to mature. I think the Horn cooments revealed that. The more I think about it the less I think it was attitude in camp though. Payton said several times he was "waiting for him to show me something." That could have been some attitude, like bucking up to an injury if it's severity was questionable and get out and show "something". More so, I think it was similar to Parcells statements about TO... if you don't practice, you dont play... or, "he's gotta show me something." They both seem to highly emphasize who performs best in camp, this week, right now. No free rides just cuz you are a veteran. The emergence of the young receivers undoubtedly made the move a lot easier too. The two best field performers let go, Donte and Smith, were the two positions on the team where tthere is more depth than any others. Gandy was moved and created some big questions on the O-line but we all know how terrible he looked last year and the word that he turned into locker room cancer also. End result there is that we may be thin but is, in my estimation, probably the most positively surprising area of the team.
So again, good luck Donte. Wish it could have worked out better here but cie la vie. If we end up getting a player equal to the draft picks this year, the trade will end up as an excellent move no matter what he does in Philly. |

There was an interview on ESP last week where he pretty much said what he said in that article. It does change my opinion of him because of his comments regarding the city and the fans. I now hope he does well in Philly. |
HEY WHODI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want...you can throw a "Itold ya so My Way".....Nice of him to keep us all in his heart......... So...go ahead Whodi.......hit me with your best shot...just let me sprinkle a little Tony Chacchere's on the crow first..ok
|
DAMN the only problem now is that it would cost us more to get him back at this point.
|
stallworth should pick up sully on his way to the game so the concesion stands can make some real money
|
How does that go, Once a Saint, always a Saint right.
He will always be the man, and I a Stallworth Fan........Except when we play Philly! :( |
Thats pretty cool stallworth coming to the Monday Night game kinda glad he will be there....

What I think happened to Donte is that he just couldn't take anymore, after the hurricane and all that happened, and I'm not talking about the playing in S.A. and B.R. I really think that Donte basically became shellshocked, with all the tension, incertitude, destruction around him, to the point that it affected his performance at work. |
Donte spent too much time going out on Saturday nights before home games.
|
i have it on good sources that donte would frequent clubs on saturdays even with games on sunday... nonetheless, he's one that i wish we still had on our team... the guy is still on the way up in his career... i'm pretty sure that's evident to everyone.... the guy seems to be very much a stand up kinda guy... makes me wonder what EXACTLY went on tranining camp that got him on payton's bad side.... or is payton that much of a control freak? don't know for sure but this trade, for now, seems to have worked for both sides... of course having colston eases the loss of stallworth a bit.... but still, stallworth was won of my faves on the team last yr. and really ever since we got him...

Philly didn't need him yesterday. However, no real surprise that he's hurt. Alcohol and nasty ho's really do kill the ability to keep healthy.
