The Most Important Win

My thought is that there might have been a more important win for THE TEAM, maybe the playoff win. But the game last night was definitely the most important ever for the FRANCHISE. It was so big and symbolic that it was for the ENTIRE CITY, not even just the franchise. A proud time, before, during, and after it all. The NFL and the nation are on notice now--- WE"RE BACK! C'mon on down and experience something like you never have before in our house... open for business, party on!

Each player interviewed gave credit to Payton for 1) a winning gameplan and 2) for keeping the team focused on the task at hand.

Bush cited Payton's philosophy- Enjoy it tonight, digest it tomorrow, then it's back to work the next day.

just sticking this in here...

The most respect I have seen from national press-

Can the 3-0 Saints contend for the playoffs?

It's going to be difficult, for sure. But you can make the case the defense is only getting better, especially after a great performance from the young safeties last night in stopping the run and in pass coverage.

General manager Mickey Loomis told me in August how good Colston was going to be.

Loomis filled this roster with players who bought into the team-oriented concept, something sorely lacking in prior years.

Bush is only getting better and Deuce McAllister is healthy.

And the leadership and play of Brees is something the Saints haven't had in ages.

The Saints have Tampa Bay twice, which is good news, and home dates against San Francisco, Baltimore, Carolina, and Washington. The road schedule the rest of the way is as difficult as any in football, starting this weekend in Carolina.

But with new leadership, new talent, and representing hope for a city and a region that needs to hang its hat on its beloved Saints, the last thing you want to do is eliminate the Saints from doing anything.

he was the 3rd to last pick in this years draft........and, as johnny carson use to say, i did'nt know that.......................
he really can catch the football.......................
he was a meager 7 catches for 97 yds against the dirty birds...........
if the saints are wise, they'll rework his contract as soon as they can.............smitty

......and he did that against DeAngelo Hall, who is considered one of the NFL's elite CB's. We've got him for 3 years as of now, but I'm hoping we sign him for a 6-8 year deal.
