I didn't think that we would see a Saint as "Defensive Player of the Week."

Well done Fujita. Now work on being All Pro.

For the season: 23 Tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception. He's on his way.

I always thought Fujita was a decent linebacker before he came to the Saints, but seeing him play every week and I'm wowed by him. I hope he keeps up his intensity and hard work.

Looks like we've got that leader on defense we were looking for. So far this season, Fujita's has called out audibles to the defense, been around the ball nearly every play, & most of all been a locker room leader from what I've heard from team officials. I wasn't that big on getting him when we did, but I'm damn sure happy we got him. He & Brian Young have been the biggest surprises on this defense! Who woulda' thunk it, huh?

Add Fred Thomas to that list of surprises, too.

Fred Thomas isn't a supries, are you forgetting what this guy is capable of
80 tackles for a corner with a bunch of picks and a few ff's, the only surprise of him would be his play at his age

Way to go Fukita, if he keeps this up, he'll be the surprise of the PB, I think Smith and maybe Young can make it as well

Maybe for his age, but I've always liked Freddie. To be honest, I like him more than McKenzie....but that's just me. He always shows up to play.....like the year he played with that big a** cast on his hand. You gotta' love a CB that will play with his arm in a cast!

Congratulations to Fujita, he deserved this. We're 3-0, and he's played a great game for all 3. I think he's the biggest reason this defense is turning it around.

If you guys aren't surprised by Fred Thomas this year, then you obviously haven't watched the last two seasons. The guy was looking ancient out there and getting toasted constantly. The guy is playing like he's a third year vet with a lot of spring in his legs and straight up HAWKING receivers. He is playing now like he did his first year with the team.

the past few seasons, he's had to battle injuries and off the field family issues. everyone has a few down years in their career.

Which is EXACTLY why I consider him a surprise seeing that the guy is in his early- mid-30's. When a player starts battling injuries at that age and at that position, it usually makes him resort to nickle coverage, special teams, the bench, or out of the NFL. Thomas is impressing the hell out of me this year with his play.

Apparently the accolades dont stop there...Carney was named NFC special Teams player of the month going a perfect 9/9 including that 51yd strike monday night. God i love this team and how they have played so far this season. And i stress Team - this is a team playing good football without relying or needing any luck. A win next week will be very tough considering the shortened week but this team now knows how to play to win a superbowl. They have been taught how to win and they are doing it and one more time will seal the deal with all pundits across the board. We got ourselves a winner here =) who dat!!
