I sent the writer this:
Dear Mr. Morris, I took offense to your most recent article regarding the New Orleans Saints Football Club. I am a resident of Louisiana. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina my grandmothe, a resident of New Orleans, lost her home to flood waters and was then diagnosed with cancer. The house has been rebuilt then sold and she now resides an hour or so north where she can get the cancer treatment she needs. The state of Louisiana has suffered more than the other Gulf Coast states since last years devastating hurrican season. The good citizens of Louisiana quickly realized that the complacency to which we approached to government of our state had come back to haunt them. The corruption at all levels of government and ineffective leadership for the last 20 years gave us a wake up call. The tragedy that unfolded as a result of this corruption and lack of leadership left little for us to pin our hopes on for a brighter day. We would like believe that any success that our team has will translate, however small, into some tangible change in the community. I have been a Saints from as long as I can remember and have suffered through many, many disappointing seasons. This one feels different and it is due to more than the play of team. We do not have much to point to and say this will make things better. The road to recovery will be hard and long fought. I think it will be longer than most people realize. If once a week people in New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast can go to a game or watch a television screen and feel better for 3 or 4 hours then let them have it. We are working hard down here to rebuild a state not only torn by Katrina, but by Rita as well. Our coast is disappearing our citizens are not returning and at times feels like the federal government has abandoned us. We plod on everyday to make things better and once a week we get a little inspiration from 53 men wearing the Black & Gold, why do you insist upon tearing away at that. Many people in the US have also found these "Warriors of Hope" to be inspiring to them. To me these are true sports fans that appreciate the hope that the Saints inspire. President Bush said that he was tired of the Yankees winning, because everyone else who is not a Yankees fan is as well. Alot of people who are not even baseball fans are tired of the them winning as well, count me among them. I once was a baseball fan in my younger years. I went to see Nolan Ryan pitch a game in his farewell season. I went to Houston to see the light show in the Astrodome one last time before it was torn down. I now longer pay attention to MLB, for the simple reason that there is very little competition anymore. The dramatic rise of the NFL in revenue and popularity is largely due to the leagues belief in parody. As soon as the big guys in MLB realize that, there will be more money for everyone and teams besides the Yankees, Red Sox, and Dodgers may be able to sell out some games outside of September and October. My future brother-in-law is a rabid Philadelphia Eagles fan. I called him the day after the game to ask him about something unrealted to the game on Suday and he told me how pleased he was that they had lost to the Saints and not someone else on Sunday. The accounts of many Saints and Eagles fans at the game also tell me that Eagles fans are ok with losing to us and finding out that those players are doing something bigger than 60 minutes on Sunday. They are playing for hope, community, and most of all a reckoning. I have read your internet "published" article a couple of times already and have failed to see what point you were trying to make. I do, howver, take one silver lining from your angry, contrite, and misguided philosophy. The many fans of the New Orleans Saints have done one thing in the last 6 weeks that you have not. We have risen from futile anger and hopeless resentment. Our voices cheer instead of jeer. We chant victory and REG-GIE instead of yelling boo. You, on the other hand will continue to reside in the quagmire that is a Yankeeless October. This guy is such a poor writer that it is hard to imagine that he's allowed to have a weekly column. Supposedly he is allowed to publish based on some "expertise" he convinced others to believe that he has in policy and public freedoms.
His main point is that if you cheer for the Saints and you're not originally a Saints' fan, then you are against freedom, democracy and the American Dream. However, he makes his point that anyone sane would want to keep things the status quo, like the Yankees should always win and the Saints should always lose. Clearly not American and not a supporter of freedom and definitely not anyone worth reading. This waste of skin is a great example of why abortion should have been legalized before 1974. I'm sure his relatives get an anal pucker knowing that they have to hang their heads in shame for their genetic association. |
Mr. Morris now has something in common with so many of the Black&Gold members....They have been unpimped by XAN!!!
Go XAN |
Well I guess the best part of Mr. Morris ran down his mother leg......

There's one thing I hate more than stupidity, it's ignorant stupidity.

"I hope the Big Easy bounces back better than ever  for its sake, as well as for Girls Gone Wild."
This guy is a complete jerk. I read the whole article and I kept waiting for him to say "Gotcha". He is really making no sense. He want's New Orleans to stay the same. Why? I was born in Lousiana and I loved going to New Orleans, but the fact is the city was regularly in the top of the nation in the murder rate. The fact that it was viewed as a party town lightly masked something seriously wrong in the city. If you're from Lousiana you'll know what I'm talking about. So I seriously don't want New Orleans to go back to what it use to be. I want it to be better. I don't know what this guy was trying to say. That if you hate freedom, hope their football team does bad? It's stupid. If they do poorly than it's less money coming into the city, less jobs. That helps the town Mr. Morris. |
i followed the footsteps of jrrmlb. here is my letter:
You are a terrible writer. You took no point in this article at all. All you stated was you hope the Saints stop winning so they can be the laughing stock of the NFL again. Also your convoluted connection between the Yankees, Saints, 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, Girls Gone Wild, and President Bush made no sense. I suggest you quit writing and pursue another career like the pornography industry. You seem interested in that as your "article" said. You wish the best for "Girls Gone Wild", yet you couldn't care less whether New Orleans residents rebuild their city. Your article is as good New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin saying his city needs to be a chocolate city. I conclude my letter by saying this, your writing is crap. Mr. Morris just got called out by a 15 year old...BEAUTIFUL...
|
I hope we beat the dog $hite out N.Y. in N.Y. and that guy has front row tickets
|
I could not bring myself to waste my time writing this idiot a long response so I simply called him a retard. He replied back stating " Well that was a well thought out argument" so I replied back " It was as about well thought out as your Saints bashing story" No reply yet.
|
And to think someone is paying this guy to write columns.
|
I think one of us should approach the "publisher" of that website to allow a rebuttal to this fundamentally offensive article.
|
He di not respond to my email...I feel short-changed...how will I recover????
CRACK...Slurp....BEER GOOOOOODD |
Quote:
Can't rebut that, can you? :) |
Fine, I emailed the publisher about a rebuttal. We'll see how far that gets us. If we get denied, I propose that as many as feel offended email the publisher about publicizing his site's genuine disregard for the welfare of their grassroots constituents.
|
I also could not resist sending a quick line to Mr Morris.......I could care less about the points he was trying to make (although I have no idea what they were) I was just wondering what his meaning was to his closing statement when he wrote
Unless, of course, you hate freedom. In which case Katrina changed everything. I really hope there is no hidden meaning behind it.....if there is....NOW I HAVE ISSUES WITH MR MORRIS!!!!! |
T-R, I think that I can come up with something a bit more scathing. This jerkwad's site gets a lot of hits, and the one thing I can't stand is for ignorance to be perpetrated then ignored by those who are informed. Crap like this can snowball. It starts with "don't care about the Saints" and transcends into "New Orleans shouldn't get help to rebuild." These people are political activists at the core, and diverting money away from worthy causes into their pockets is the root of their being. But they need the blind obeisance of their followers to do that.

This grassroots organisation relies on getting key "non-political" opinion leaders in communities to lead a wave of protest through to their elected officials. In this day of polling to determine an elected official's position, if an organisation like this creates enough pull to create a voice in one direction, then the elected leaders will heed the polls. Articles like this rely on the readers' inability to create a policy logic for themselves - by hitting buzzwords and fallaciously linking various positive and negative concepts, they can sway the gullible to have a negative opinion. At stake currently is the Congressional approval of about $70 Billion in aid for the gulf coast for rebuilding. Articles like this seek to negatively influence public opinion away from spending money on the worthy cause of rebuilding, toward other non-critical projects for which these activists have interests.
One must zealously protect against the sleazy and manipulative. |
I got a reply from him... I signed it F- the Yankees. He is a retard.
|
Euph, what did you write and what was his reply?
|
I wrote this...
You totally missed the point. Its not who matters more... who is more important. The people of New Orleans have rallied around what they have always hold dear to there culture. The Saints are New Orleans. The poor of New Orleans was hit the hardest and treated horrible by our own government. The Saints have been far from a winning team... if something great happens and takes there minds off of the problems they face everyday trying to rebuild SO WHAT. If other people root for them... SO WHAT. All you have done is made more people want to root against the Yankees. F- the Yankees. He responded Great. So root for the Saints. I never said you shouldn't. -JDM- |
First off, as the only saints/yankees fan on the planet I'd like to say that not all us yankee fans are as ignorant as this guy. It's people like him that give us a bad name but thats for another topic. I just want to applaud jrm on a great letter to this guy. The only reason he won't respond to you jrm is because your letter actually makes sense and is way to intelligent for this guy.
|
he's a pus**. he didnt even respond to my email. what an ahole. and livanlietimay is my letter not intelligent or whats your point.
seriously tho jrr your letter is way better. i was just so pissed. |
I think the guy is friggin crazy. Simply put, he is an Idiot.
|
Actually, he is a Dee Dee Dee!
|
all you need to know about this guy, the article, and the site is found in the upper right hand corner of the web site. anybody that associates themselves with newsmax, worldnetdaily, fox news, free republic, top news, and world news cannot be that bright. well, unless you just read them to laugh at them calling themselves real news services.

Thanks guys...I had to take deep breaths and recite an affirmation before I wrote it...kidding...I smoked a pack, looked at my college sheepskin and remembered that I did not want to sound like some drunk coona$$, even though a few hours later I was...
I thought of mentioning my grandmother and grandfathers work with the Knights of Columbus at the Superdome concession stands for which the organization took home some of the profits to help fund a seniors center in Belle Chase...but it seemed a little over his head...I also thought I would tell him that despite having cancer and undergoing 3 rounds of horrible chemotherapy and losing a kidney that no one stepped between her and her Zenith on Sundays |
