I hate the bye week

I know it is needed and its at a good time this year but god it sucks with no saints to watch.
I love football and i will watch other games on direct tv but it still sucks.

RE: I hate the bye week

Bye weeks kills me too, but two games I'll try to watch, Falcons & Steelers game and the Panthers & Bengals game.

If the Falcons lose to Pittsburgh we're 3 games up on them and if the Panthers lose to the Bengals then we're 2 games up them and we didn't take the field...

RE: I hate the bye week

You've given me reason to pull for the Steelers and the Bengals this week LTF.

LongTimeFan 10-21-2006 02:44 PM

RE: I hate the bye week

I don't think the Falcons can beat the Steelers, Carolina on the other hand has a chance beating the Bengals because the Bengals offensive line is terrible right now.

SaintFanQ 10-21-2006 03:55 PM

Don't like this, need my Saints fix!!!!!!!

It does seem strange not having a Saints game to follow this week. The bye can be helpfull to give players chance to sort out any minor injuries etc. which is a good thing, but the bye also stops the momentum the team have been building over the previous weeks. I just hope the team can come back stronger than ever and give the Ravens a good thrashing!!

Geaux Saints.

It somehow feels wrong to pull for your rivals’ opponent.

I try hard not to do it, but it would be disingenuous to say I don’t smile when Charlotte or the ATL loose or any other rival looses – or when teams outside our division that we beat win. - or any other scenario that might help the Saints.

But I try to do all “routing for the black and gold – even on bye week.

I look at our rivals as the enemy, I look at it this way, every time someone in our division loses the Saints gain , I NEVER pull for the Falcons, Panthers or the Bucs, NEVER..
A good friend of mine has been a Saints fan as long as I have, his son on the other hand is a huge Falcon fan, when we played the Falcons on that Monday night game his son wore his Vick jersey & Falcon cap, my friend told me that the Saint fans gave him a hard time, in good fun though, anyway some Saint fan told the young boy (12 years old) to bring his Vick jersey & Falcon cap back where he bought them and ask for his money back because he was cheated, poor kid, but kid said he didn't care what the Saints fans told him because he was going to continue to wear his jersey & camp, seems like there's a trouble maker in every family.
Gotta love going to the Dome on game day..

Exactly! I also root for what ever scenario helps the Saints. So I ALWAYS root for the AFC to beat the NFC when it's not the Saints  I hope the rest of the NFC South loses every game. And when them play each other, I hope for 0-0 ties  . No, but seriously, so long as we're taking care of business, like we are this year (for a change), I'm not too concerned with the rest of the league, but the division is too tight right now. This would be a good weekend to get some breathing room.

I also root for AFC teams to beat NFC teams, you never know how much help you'll need at the end of the regular season.

Um, I mean, Crap Cheney, What do I say? :bush:

WVSaint 10-22-2006 08:16 AM

rooting for the division rivals to lose, shouldnt be a surprise.......hell division-wise, they dont factor against us anymore, but the 49ers beat up on us for so long i still hope they get creamed on a weekly basis.

saintbuck 10-22-2006 08:43 AM

If Pitt. and Cinn. both win, we will be sitting pretty

poydras 10-22-2006 11:56 AM

This would be a good day to have that special DirecTV thing where you can watch 8 games at once. You could just turn to whatever game something is going on. Guess I'll just watch the panthers and bungles.

I know man its the only excitement i can get without any Saints to watch. This sucks

exiled 10-22-2006 12:26 PM

what can I say - I try to be a nice guy and it feels wrong to rout for a team I don't care about to beat a team just because they are our rival.

which really means I am routing for someone to loose.

so if i were honset i would slam my Abita down on the table as I watch da burgh and the ATL play on TV and I would shout “Lose Lose.
"die die"
feels awfully negative.

you are right - I am
Positive Optimistic Hate to cheer for the negative – kinda reverse cheering.
I don’t like to boo
Perhaps that does make me - what was it - un-American.

qball316 10-22-2006 12:33 PM

I would say I will pull specifically for Willie Parker, Rudi Johnson, and the Steeler's Def.

thank god for Fantasy Football!

exiled 10-22-2006 12:54 PM

Not a big Fantasy football fan. Too much individual. I believe in teams, and team work.
We are pack animals. When we act as a unit there is no end to what we can accomplish.
No insult to you. Have fun. But if human beings were solitary creatures we would have never left the trees and never invented football.
