I thought this board exhausted the Donald Willis phenomenon a couple years back when we were still in the old format. I was sick of him then and damn the feeling never left.

One of the best saints ever to me is Sam Mills but that is my choice so please dont bash me to hard

Balt, you couldn\'t go wrong picking any one of the Dome Patrol. Sam Mills was an amazing defender considering his stature and to this day many will say that if you want to learn how to text book tackle, watch Mills play.
Good choice. As D will attest, I pick Pat Swilling. I\'ve stated too many reasons over time. |
Saints Greatest player of all time!
Man, Mills was my hero for the longest time!! I was so crushed the first time I saw him in a Panthers jersey. I love all dem boys from my youth, but Mills was, and is my fav.
Followed closely by Billy Joe Tolliver. He was The Future!!!! (Sorry, I was hallucinating.) |

Any of the Dome Patrol would get a vote. Here\'s one from the long ago past, Tommy Myers. Pretty good safety.Archie would have to be in there too. That\'s a hard question to answer with just one name. :)

My vote for greatest Saint of all-time would have to be Eric Martin. That guy could catch ANYTHING thrown at him. He wasn\'t fast, he wasn\'t real big, and he wasn\'t flashy. He just produced. One of the more consistent receivers the team has ever had, besides Horn. Of course saying Eric Martin was the greatest Saint ever may be a stretch, but he\'s my favorite of all-time. Though Deuce is QUICKLY closing in on him.

There\'s alot of great Saints, but how could argue with Morten Anderson?
Jackson, Mills, Swilling were all exciting to watch, but the Great Dane stole games from 60 yards out and earned the nickname \"Automatic Anderson\". There\'s my vote. |
Saints Greatest player of all time!
D is just saying Eric Martin to score points with me, since I\'ve claimed numerous times that he was my favorite player growing up. :P
Even with that, I really don\'t see how you can look past Archie Manning or Ricky Jackson. These two were the cornerstones of their respective teams at the time, and spent the majority of thier career with the Saints. My vote, I\'d have to say Jackson. |

Rickey Jackson, up until he decided to purchase a SB ring as a tag along with the 49\'ers.
THE 49\'ers??? Just rip out my friggin heart why don\'t you. ANYBODY BUT THOSE GUYS!!!! That evil day, he became my least favorite Saint of all time, a despised traitor. My heart was absolutely crushed. IMO one of the darkest days in sports history. My favorite player of all time, a 49\'er? BETRAYED :( He can rot in San Fran as far as I care. He can take that ring and shove it too! He was truly one of my few hero\'s. Now I place him even below a Pete Rose. Great, Now I\'ll be mad all day again! |

Not even in our division anymore, and I still HATE the 49\'ers !!!!
But let\'s all give a shout out to Dalton Hilliard and Reuben Mayes. I mean as long as we are recount our youth. All time fav: Mills Best all time: Manning Soon to be best all time: McAllister |

But, yeah, I\'ll be selfish and say the bastard should rot for fulfilling his dream, by any means necessary. This tinge of sarcasm brought to you by Starbucks- your caffiene injection fix- squashing one grumpy attitude at a time. |

One more thing I\'d like to see is Anderson sign and retire with the Saints like Jackson did so they can go to the Hall as a Saintsin a few years. Is it too late for Mills to re-retire as a Saint? |

OK I can see my hatred for the 49\'ers may probably be a a little over the top.
I\'ve often daydreamed about 49\'ers getting dismembered by a Saint LB blindsiding them at about mach-5. I\'ve have actually thought about councelling. But hate re-hab is costly and largle uneffective. I\'d love to get help, because as many fans here feel about Archie, I used to feel about Rickey. |
Saints Greatest player of all time!
I would pick either Deuce or Joe Horn.

I\'m with you on the Rickey Jackson thing, B and B. As much as it crushed me to know he was playing with the nemesis. As much as it pained me to see him on the other side of the field from us. As much as i cringed when I saw him in that uniform, I was more than happy when he finally got what he deserved. A Super Bowl ring. This, however, set a precedent for my favorite teams and some of my favorite players. Mark Grace later down the road left the Cubs and won a World Series with Arizona. :casstet:

Without a doubt it is Dalton Hillard.

Wayne Martin wasn\'t a bad player either.

Tom Dempsey stopped the laughter for a while. Detroit will Never forget him, I can tell you that.

It really bugs me that a thread this interesting for people\'s ideas on this topic got started by \"Snacks\" Willis.
This guy is a poltergeist. |
Saints Greatest player of all time!
The way this thread started has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. Do not do bong hits before coming to Black and Gold. I vote for Manning.
