good loss.....wtf????

what the hell is a "good loss"? last time i checked losses were bad, wins were good.... we looked like crap and i don't want any "after the bye week" excuses... i'm not giving up on the team, but hell, i expect them to come out and play better football than they played this weekend... when you have a football bounce off your head and then taken for a pick six, you flat out weren't prepared like you should have been and need to wake the f&*k up!!!!

if the players had the same attitude that 70% of this board had, we'd continue to have "good losses" unitl we were 5-11... i'm just afraid that if they don't correct it now, it'll be too late... we're in a very tough division and are not in the position to start dropping a couple of games

No, no, no....I think I can speak from the board as a whole we were let down yes but we do no thave an negative attitude. We just wish when we was down by 14 and inside the 20 of the opponents goalline we could've do something else like run on that second down or throw the ball not trick plays on a stellar defense. But we just got out coached there is always gonna be challenges to keep winning ask Peyton Manning who just can't get a superbowl win it happens. We move on and take frustration out on Tampa Bay a loss now is better than to the ATL or Panthers or DAL

good loss......???????? I think this how it was implied.
Well we were all getting so wrapped up in the game plans working so well that we all were getting a bit stupid. That goes with the Saints to.
The Ravens really did not worry so much about Bush as other teams did. The had faith that defensive talent could keep him in check. They did. So now we have rethink the game plan a bit. You know the Bucs are watching that tape.
What I learned was we have alot pieces that are good but we are still in need of upgrading key areas on both sides of the ball. wow we all said that before we were winning. now we have to take the ross color glasses off.
As for the game plan we can expect the Bush decoy to loss it's impact. That will allow him more chances to do somthing. But the OL can not play that way. I was wondering why the team took so long to open up defense by speading the field and passing to open up the run.
I thought Drew was going to be in the shoot gun most of the day anyways to limit the pass rush.
good in the sense that if we really going to be good year in and year out we still have a good way to go.
Please get me a CB, T, and a LB in FA. TE too

I don't think there is any such thing as a "good loss," but there can be losses you learn from, or losses that make you re-focus, so they can be good in that way for the long run, but a loss itself is never good.

I think we'll find out Sunday how bad this loss was. When we lost to the panthers, it didn't hurt us much because we played well enough to win but just came up short. Those happen. We were never really in the game with the ravens and that could hurt the team's confidence in itself and the coaches. The Saints of old would fold after a loss like that. I hope this Saints team just realizes that they picked a bad day to have a bad day and continues to believe and play hard.

I can go along with a good loss in theory but not in Pro football. Even still if I was to believe there is a good loss. This was NOT, we were exposed for our weekness and we were DOMINTATED.

I believe that's what we'll see. I mean, let's be honest, we were an over-achieving team that had a lot of momentum, went into a bye, and came out flat. The Saints have been playing with a lot of emotion all season, and it prob would have been better for the bye to come later and not sap that, but it came when it did. I think the players we have now will take this loss personally, and come out fighting against Tampa. I really do not expect it to be as close as it was last time. There will be a lot of determination on the field Sunday.

They will be fired up. better be. division game. can not split division games and hope to win the division or make the playoffs

I don't think these reactions, are based on the team we have now, but more on the teams we've had in the past. As Saints fans, we have been programmed over the years, to think this way, no matter how well the team is doing. I hate to quote Yoda here, but we must, "unlearn, what we have learned". I know it's hard, but look at it this way. IF, and that's a great big if, we don't win another game this season, which with the current line up, I find highly unlikely, we have still done better than last season. In this day and age, of instant gratification, everyone in here, and across the planet, would love for the Saints to win a championship this year, and it is possible for it to happen, but we cannot freak out, everytime we lose. I hate to put it this way, but as a long time Saints fan myself, it's not the losing that bothers me anymore. I'm use to it. It's the winning I don't know how to react too. If I react too much, then I get let down, by losses, like the one on Sunday. Which I think is what is going on in here right now. Let's just enjoy the game, and let the chips fall where they may. I think, we are all going to be very pleasantly surprised in January. Call it a feeling. :D

Like I said in another post.....having Reggie in most of the game instead of Deuce (nursing an injury) hurt the offense alot. Deuce is the staple of our running game. Not having that balance on offense hurt us alot & helped the Ravens defense to play alot of "robber" defense in the secondary.
