Scouting as a profession

Anyone here know anyone in the profession? I'm curious if there is like a scout school or something that you go to in order to get into this as a career. What does it take? I think I would make a damn fine scout, personally :P

Would that not be the dream of everyone in here? I would kill to get a job like that.
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I am a major corporate sponsor of the local CFL football team here, the Eskimos. When I was negotiating our corporate contra exchange I was trying to get them to let me accompany their scout team every season. They usually hit the combines and attend alot of minicamps trying to get a handle on who is due to get cut and basically vulture the practice squads for players. I was more than willing to for go a good chunk of return advertising just to get to do that.
They said no dammit!!
