Random Thoughts

- I wasn't trying to give AB props earlier. The Raiders offensive line is horrendous.

- The most competitive college football title race is in the Big East - West Virginia, Louisville, Rutgers and Pitt.

- Archie's look at the boys in the ESPN commercial is still killer. Good stuff.

- Expect the NFL to have more of a say in players' health care and game-to-game availability. It may not come today or next week. But its coming. Especially if the medical community keeps banging the concussion drum.

- Sammy Knight is my all time favorite Saint. And he's still knockin' heads.

- The local paper here ran a national story that spoke of the hurdles for the Gators to get in the national championship picture - Spurrier's Gamecocks and the SEC title game. Not one mention of Florida State.

- University of Hawaii has accepted an invitation to the Hawaii Bowl. No surprise there. They throw 400+ a game and are on track for a 60 passing touchdown season. Wonder who their opponent will be. Wonder if they'll be the apple or the pig....

- Wouldn't it be cool if the Dolphins had to take care of the Colts in the last game of the season.

Hawaii is a very good team... they actually have something that resembles a defense for the first time in years. I know they're from Hawaii and want to put on a show for the home crowd but if they want more recognition/respect from the rest of the league, they should consider going to a different bowl game down the road. I would love to see their offense play against another SEC opponent.

i'm not sure what has happened to florida state, but they have dropped off significantly in a decade.... they used to be the most feared team in the land, and today they aren't anywhere near that..... miami may be the next team to have that exact same drop off... and i really hope so b/c i absolutely abhor miami.... coker looks like the guy from the goonies....

The slide started when other teams came knockin' for our coaches. There was a 10 to 15 year period of a great cohesive staff.

I miss the years of total hurricane dominance but hey.....everything changes. I have noticed the shifting of power and its kind of a welcome sight even though I wish the anes weren't so affected by it.

Kanes are punks. That is the downfall. 5 years in a row they have signed Punks

i hate the fact that michael irvin is such a homer and is all about the "u".... and the cowboys.... he's constantly making excuses for TO dropping passes.... TO has cost the 'boys 2 games this year and if wasn't such a playmaker, i'm sure parcells would have cut him a long time ago.... bottom line, one of those two (TO and parcells) isn't going to be back in big d next season.... wanna take bets on who stays and who goes? i'm betting TO will be gone before the draft.... unless parcells retires, but i think if they make the playoffs, he ain't givin' it up quite yet

Am I in bizarro world or did he just use competitive college football and the big east in the same sentence...
 LOL but true.
- TV network exec's don't watch football pregame shows or THEY'd GET A CLUE!!!

- Just when you'd given up on the Saints front office they connect on a few of their hail Mary's (Colston, Payton, Brees, Fujita)

- I'd rather be kicked in the nads than watch Perfectly Frank.

- All the info isn't in yet. But it appears the 'Canes Pata shooting death is a true tragedy. Speaking strictly in football terms, with no intention of being insensitive - Miami's recruiting efforts just took a big hit.

- Michael Irvin and Sean Salisbury sparred on two points last night - "Who is the best WR in the NFL" and " Are WR's the biggest whiners in football". I don't need to tell you how that went, do I? Classic sports television.

- Butch Davis is the new coach at North Carolina. Hmm... not sure how intimidating the Tar Heels are gonna look steppin' off the bus in baby blue cammies. Goodbye snobby institution of higher learning, hello cap in your ass.

- Steve Smith is five foot nine? Wow.

- Nascar driver Scott RIgg's crew member was fined $10,000 for knockin' driver Kevin Harvick and wife to the ground this past Sunday. Can I help pay his fine? Where do I sign up?

- MLB is clever the way they stretch out announcing awards post-season.

- Hot Sauce

- Went to a Florida State exhibition basketball game Tuesday night. Good crowd and quick guards. We'll know a little more when the Gaytors come callin' early December. Last year, in December, we had them down 23.... Both UNO and Southeastern play here before the Christmas break. I'll be there.

- I'm thinking we're the better team. Are the Steelers really 2-6 bad? Their backs up against the wall? Up there? Another opportunity to prove we're the real thing.

- The quickest way to lose a debate here is to hang around for the name callin'. In my book, you not only lose the round, you lose credibility for the next.

- If we score 18 or more, and hold the other guys to 17 or less. We win.

- Defense, folks. Defense.

- After further review, Lebron gets a mulligan from me. Much ado about nothing. Much ado about little, I should say.

- The Big East gets more interesting every game. One loss national contending teams are thanking Rutgers today.

- Folks here only berate others for poor spelling when they disagree with their posts.
