They planned it....
Faine has to be great to get the ball to roll to deuce like that ... lol thought that was crazy deuce was like oh sh!t and picked it up.... maybe they should do that play more often in the redzone lol

RE: They planned it....
NO!!!! If I never see that play again, if you can even call it a play, it will be too soon. You can never predict how a football will roll.
|
I don't think he planned to bounce it on the ground....but it did look a lot like the direct-snap plays that used to go to Deuce in 2001, 2002, etc.
|
I was like what in the hell was that...
Still not sure what that was all about.. |
Duce was saying the same thing. Bress was looking around like he was at an easter egg hunt.
never..never ... again. |
I still do not know if they wanted to do it or not.

From today's Times-Pic -
"I just saw the ball pop up and tried to make a play," McAllister said. "It definitely wasn't designed by any means. It was a strange play." |
From a second article -
"The only break we got all day was the snap I wasn't supposed to get," Deuce McAllister said of the Saints' final touchdown. "It was supposed to be a pass." That's when an errant snap by Jeff Faine wound up bouncing into Deuce's hands, one that was supposed to go to Brees, and turned into the most surprising six points of McAllister's career. "I didn't know what happened until I looked up at the Jumbo-tron," Brees said. "It was supposed to be a pass. But call it a trick play." |
Maybe that was a sign that we should be giving the ball to Deuce a little more. I think if we've done that our "D" wouldn't been gas out in the 4th
