Here's the latest from the Superdome.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Superdome general manager Doug Thornton would like to see the AstroTurf field surface in the Superdome replaced. However, he doesn’t have the money to devote to the project and may have to wait until the Superdome undergoes another renovation before it happens. He keeps samples of FieldTurf and AstroPlay, two leading synthetic products, in his office. The new surfaces cost about $1 million to $2 million to install.

Anybody got any spare change?

A couple of years ago they were talking about putting live grass in the dome. When Green Bay played a preseason game in the dome several years ago, live grass was used.

The Saints could afford it. Hell, even the players could afford it.

You\'d think they\'d all chip in on one season for the potential benefit of saving a broken leg or two. Or a broken back. Or a broken neck, for that matter.
