Packers Sign Bouman
Packers sign Bouman to back up Favre
The Green Bay Packers, as expected, have signed a quarterback to bolster their depleted signal-caller position. FOXSports.com has learned that Green Bay on Tuesday signed former Vikings and Saints QB Todd Bouman. Bouman started three games for the Saints last year but had a poor showing with a 54.7 rating. However, in 2001 Bouman started three games when Daunte Culpepper was benched and had a terrific showing with a 98.3 and eight touchdowns to just four picks. Bouman was brought in yesterday along with younger QBs J.T. O'Sullivan and Bradlee Van Pelt. Bouman, however, had the inside track as he is familiar with Mike McCarthy's system having been with him in New Orleans a few years ago. Bouman was signed because backup Aaron Rodgers broke his foot Sunday and starter Brett Favre is held up by an elbow injury. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6194550 8) |

Logical choice since he's familiar with the system... a good "backup" quarterback. Backup. There are Charlie Batch's hanging around w/o a job.
