Donte under Horn's wing
Saints | Showing the Way - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
20:18 PT: Paul Corliss reports for NewOrleansSaints.com WR Joe Horn has taken rookie WR Donte Stallworth aside to serve as his mentor. He can often be seen tutoring the young rookie. Horn was the first to congratulate the rookie after a nice diving catch. "That's it D! We'll take that!" Horn told the rookie. |

EVFERYONE doesn\'t have to post their excitement about this topic all at once now! Just relax- only one reply at a time now.... :casstet: :hallucine: :yltype:

Donte under Horn's wing
I guess I\'ll be the first to post my excitement. That is cool that Horn is doing that. Given his short contract dispute, it\'s nice to see Joe acting this way. Definitely will help build the team atmosphere.

Donte under Horn's wing
Is he teaching him the fine art of trash talking too?

I think Donte\' will have more to trash talk about this year--(not that he didn\'t last year)

Why he\'ll have a breakout year...
1. Stud WR\'s usually blossom in their 2nd year. The difference in the 1st and 2nd year is typically significant. From what I saw last year, a huge improvement from Stallworth is really really bad news for Tampa, Carolina and Atlanta. 2. Donte has contacted Isaac Bruce to discuss how Bruce fixed his hammy problems. As I hear it he has the exact same hammy problem Bruce had. Imagine how good Donte\'s numbers would be if he played all 16 at full strength. 3. Donte commited himself to catch over 1000 balls this offseason to improve his hands. He had a reputation for hard hands and would drop some he shouldn\'t. That type of attitude will serve this young man well. 4. With the arsenal we now have at WR and TE, other teams will not be able to double team Horn and Stallworth. He\'ll be one-on-one with a #2 corner quite frequently this year. Stallworth vs a #2 corner? Nuff said. 5. Horn has decided to tutor the young man, and I\'m sure he has a lot to offer with both mental and physical preparation. That unselfish team oriented attitude is infectious. Bottom line: If he stays healthy and improves as expected, he will flirt with a trip to Hawaii. |

I like hearing this. You can say all you want about this guy or that guy being a pro bowler but individuals is something we no longer need or want. This \"TEAM\" needs to come together for once and play as a TEAM. Joe doing what he is doing just says volumes about himself and being a TEAM player. That\'s exactly what we have been missing for many of years. I wish this would become infectious. Some call it chemistry some call it gelling but it all adds up to wins. Team mates!
