i'll take a stab at this one and say its likely because ditka coached both clubs.

I was attempting to be clever, in the fact that, yes, Ditka coached both the Bears, and the Saints, in his head coaching career. That, and I'm sure, he's going to be giving his ten cents on just about every factor of this game, considering that he did coach both teams.

Even ESPN has picked up on "Ditka Bowl." Is there nothing clever anymore?
