Grossman's comments......

I just heard Rex Grossman's comments in his interview with Pam Oliver. He's already looking past our Saints. He said just one more game and their in the Super Bowl. yes, this is true but, I really don't think it's going to be as easy as Mr. Grossman seems to think it's going to be. I do believe it all will depend on how well our defense plays. Let's all hope that Fred Thomas learns how to stand up and not fall down, giving up the big play. If we get good play from our defensive line and defensive backfield, this game should be ours.

I do hope Rex keeps looking past us. It will be a kick in the butt laughing all the way to Miami!

Tobias-Reiper 01-14-2007 04:02 PM

Shawn Alexander ran for over 100 on them. They have not seen an offense like the Saints all year. The Seahawks' play calling was horrendous.
As long s it doesn't show, we are cool.

wheelman 01-14-2007 04:08 PM

I love how people are saying , "They let Shaun Alexander rush for 100 yards," as if he is a promoted benchwarmer.

Brann 01-14-2007 04:44 PM

People are saying that because their vaunted defense has been giving up over 5ypc since Tommie Harris went down and Alexander has NOT been the same back this year that he was last year.

BlackandBlue 01-14-2007 05:56 PM

hawks offensive line wasn't what it was a year ago...

spkb25 01-14-2007 06:09 PM

hey i hope someone from their team gives us locker room material. that would be real sweet. grossman looked decent against a terrible secondary of the hawks. they got guys off the street playing back there.

APSaintsfan 01-14-2007 06:28 PM

Grossman=Gross
Will Smith do a breakdance on his butt.
Deuce will run wild on them.
Brees will pass for over 400 yards.
They are not going to the SuperBowl.

G504 01-14-2007 06:36 PM

Yeah, I notice that too. But good! We've been the underdogs all year. If for that same reason I was in retropect glad Brees got snubbed for MVP and Bush got snubbed for Rookie of the Year. Keep that chip on their shoulders.

Well, I went 3-1 on my picks this weekend, and I say the Bears are toast. I wanted to play Chicago, in Chicago. I reallize that alot of you wanted the game to be played in N.O., and I understand. I just think, we have a better shot of winning in Chicago. Not to mention, this is the No. 1, against the No. 2. So when we do beat Chicago, the self proclaimed "best team in the NFC", there will be no question from anyone, anywhere, of whether or not we belong in the Superbowl. Now, before someone calls me crazy, remember, I am like the only one in here, who picked New England to win on Sunday, and guess what.... My intuition was right. We ARE going to beat the Bears. I have no doubt in my mind.

On another note.... Doesn't Lovey Smith look like the dad from Goodtimes?

maximkat 01-14-2007 11:11 PM

wow, you are right, i never thought about that....i loved that show!

frankeefrank 01-15-2007 12:58 AM

Owner of Mc Dowells?

SaintPauly 01-15-2007 01:49 AM

Exactly!! The actors name is John Amos. I did an image search, and man, it's freakin' scary how similar they are.

"People" are saying that because "people" feel that Deuce McAllister is an overall much better RB than Alexander, Karney is an overall better FB than Strong, and the Saints o-line overall does a better job of run blocking than the Seahawks line, not to mention that "people" know the Seahawks have no Reggie Bush, whose overwhelming number of pass yards have come from screen/shovel passes behind the LOS.

That's why "people" are saying what "they" are saying.

Brann 01-15-2007 10:14 AM

That and the fact that Tom friggin' Brady shook Urlacher out of his jock earlier this season...god help him if he's trying to cover Reggie one-on-one.

The Bears haven't faced an offense that's even within spitting distance of the Saints'.

maximkat 01-15-2007 11:45 AM

in response to sam, i heard more of grossman on espnradio.com last night, he certainly isn't looking past the saints.

wow, i don't ever remember double posting on this site before, i must have hit submit twice by accident.

D_it_up 01-15-2007 11:31 PM

Shawn Alexander hasn't been playing at 100% since his return from injury other than the Green Bay game when he racked up 200 yards in the snow. His other games haven't been impressive. If he can do that against the Bears and not even be 100%, then what do you think a healthy Deuce and Reggie can do? I shudder to think.

GriffinLong 01-15-2007 11:39 PM

Rex Grossmen is a piece of **** who is inconsistant and he will not have a good game saturday against the saints stout defense

I heard the soundbite also. He did say they are one win away from being in the SB and 2 wins away from having a ring on his finger, which is true, but the last thing he said was something like "but we are worrying about the Saints as of right now".

This happened for one reason...Urrrrrlacher thinking Brady is a QB was going to slide, well he didnt and you saw what happened. I highly doubt that Brian will think Bush is going to slide! If anything I see Bush getting bulldozed just like this week

Grossman said, and I quote. "we're excited and moving forward and already thinking about the Saints" Trust me noone in the Bears organization is looking past this team. We've waited a year to get back into the Playoffs, they arent messing around. I think this game is going to be a lot closer than any of you guys expect. Bears 24 Saints Negative 82 :P

fsquick 01-16-2007 05:23 AM

Rex is very unreliable and unpridictable. That said the Saint had one of the hardest schedules in the nfl this year. Da bears on the other hand only played New England there was no real compition there. I wouldve liked to be at home but 1 vs 2 isnt bad either. Payton was done a great jod with revamping the team and his efforts havnt gone for not.

flacajun 01-16-2007 07:15 AM
