I Made The Saints Lose Because...
 

Let's play a little game called "I made the Saints lose because...".

Maybe I'm a little OC (Obsessive Compulsive), but during the last couple of weeks I've done more than a few things with a Saints win in mind. We all do it, whether we ant to our not. Hoping that our actions or inactions would influence the team to win. Unfortunately, they lost, and I made the Saints lose because... my wife and I left Church early last Sunday.

I let my wife watch the game.

I checked online airfare and hotel rates to New Orleans for Feb 3-5 after Reggie's run....

I still think the ESPN guys had something to do with it ...

That's what I'm talkin' about.

Come on guys, it's kinda cathardic.

I also made the Saints lose because I bought a bunch of Saints gear this past week.

Took the hat off during the game....

I took a piss before halftime.

I had sex before the game. Took my legs out and ruined my intensity.

Had a nightmare about the game on Friday. I don't usually pay much attention to my dreams (for example, last night I was shooting people with a ballpoint pen gun), but this one was real.

I couldn't find the Saints Shield Logo I got as a gift from Chevron in 1987, the same year we went to the playoffs for the first time and I wore it through most of the Dome Patrol era while I attended every game (section 115, row 25, seats 1-4)

Other notable "Blunderous" moments that Halo forgot or lost the pendant:

1992: Saints playoff loss at home to the Eagles 20-36
1988: Saints lose regular season game to Redskins 24-27

I watched the game. When I left outside after the first quarter and a half, the Saints scored a touchdown. When I skipped the third quarter, Bush scored. As I returned for the 4th, they lost.

Oh yea and I didn't go to church either.

I talked a lot of smack on various message boards after Reggie's touchdown.

I put grease on the players' hands and made them fumble... my bad.

Guilty..I was checking out Championship hats and shirts:( Oh well..Still love them boys..

Funny you should mention this.... every time I went to church they lost and every time I skipped ...they won....

I went to church yesterday like a dumbass.

Oh, and my wife watched the game with me = loss.

I didn't play "The Saints are coming" loud enough to wake my neighbours like I have been doing all season.

My wife took the kids and went to her friends house. It was just me and the TV. Then, when they came back home, my 13 yr old daughter had on one of my Saints jerseys..........sorry folks, I didn't even see her when they left or I'd have stopped it.

My youngest daughter is at College in Georgia, she always wears her Saints long sleeve shirt every game. Sunday came and her Coach called a last minute Track practice. She ran out the door without her shirt, and I was glued to the TV wondering what the heck was wrong. RB

i put on my saints jersey before the start of the game... then proceded to watch the first half of the game on my cousins TV when the bears were up 16-0, switched over to my TV for the saints first TD drive and start of the 2nd half, then back to my cousins TV for the 4th quarter when the bears blew it open :(

we had 2 TVs in the living room for those of you who dont understand

...I was listening to just about EVERYONE talk about picking the Saints to win on all the sports talk shows. I started to feel good that so many people believed in us. Should've known that we were destined for failure.

When no one believes is when we're at our best!

I didn't go to church either, and talked way too much smack at work last week.

I think Payton jinxed the Saints by not wearing the visor!

Usually I wear my Black Deuce Jersey every home game every away I wear white deuce jersey but I just bought a new Drew Brees black jersey and I had to wear it.... sry guys...

Isn't weird how each one of us feels so connected to the Saints that we all actually assume some of the responsibilty for the loss? You just say to yourself, "what could I have done differently to help the team win?"
