The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports the New Orleans Saints filled one of their biggest needs by signing LB Brian Simmons. The 6-foot-3, 244-pounder can play all linebacker positions but likely will take over in the middle, which means LB Mark Simoneau will move into the fourth linebacker role.

Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reporting for the Sporting News, reports the New Orleans Saints are likely to take a tight end with one of their three fourth-round picks. Some players they might consider are Arizona State TE Zach Miller, Iowa TE Scott Chandler, Minnesota TE Matt Spaeth and Deleware TE Ben Patrick.
