That's a lot of money. Good we re-signed him though... he's definately the leader of our defense.

Good, I like Grant a lot. When he's going, the D is going.

20mil guaranteed...what does that do to our cap position? I failed calculus 7 in college; is that better or worse than him being franchised?

I dont know all about the cap situation but I am very excited that we have Grant locked up and do not have to worry about drafting and leveraging this position for next year in case he would have left.

Double dose of good news today. Now we are pretty free to do whatever we want in the draft.

The cap room it frees up should be helpful... as a franchised player, he was counting for something over 8 million against the cap this year. That 20 million will be prorated over the 7 years, so it will be about 2-3 million a year, plus however much he gets per year from the course of the contract (probably another 3 million or so), depending on how the contract is structured. So we probably have an extra 2 million to play with.

good to see that the Saints locked up Grant. Hopefully, we get DT help in the draft.

I don't know about this. Players seem to play harder in a contract year, and weaker once they get the contract they want. I hope this doesn't hold true for Grant.
