another running back???? im confused about this pick....and we traded up to get another RB....makes no sense to me

Stecker was not very effective in a back-up role. Plus Deuce is in his 7th year and has taken ALOT of punishment(being a BIG back). Pittman was probably the BPA. If Deuce were to go down, do you think Reggie could carry the ball 25+ times a game??? I don't think Sean wants to be forced to used Reggie in the role.

3 out of first 4 picks are for offense

I guess nobody in the Saints War Room is worried about an aging D-Line or depth at LB

Can't figure this one out AT ALL!!!

On the positive side:
-he gives us insurance on Bush and Deuce this year
-he'll be a backup to Reggie once Deuce is gone
-probably the end for Stecker and Lewis, if Pittman can return kicks

On the negative:
Did we currently really need any of these things?

Stecker has to be gone, but I do not believe the BS that Duece will be gone by next year. I think Pittman is an insurance POLICY!

Pitt's a guy who comes in and solidifies our back up position. Guys like Stecker, Fast Freddie and Jamaal Branch need to get better or get gone

its nothing against pittman, i dont think RB needed addressed at this point, let alone this year. especially with deOssie on the board.......ohh well, since he WAS on the board

It was a great value pick. We can now run Pittman out there and not experience a great dropoff in production. Stecker is probably out. Plus I hear he is a great return man, so Michael Lewis is probably out as well.
