My bad, pardon the French, Gator. I was pretty PO\'ed last night when I read this thread. I crossed the line, I admit it.
In my own defence, I was PO\'ed that this guy would come to our site, out of the blue, uninvited, uninspired, untaunted, unprovoked, and proceed to bash a team for no apparent reason (other than the fact that the team that beat his twice in their Superbowl season). Hm.... now that I think about it.... I guess that makes sense after analysis. Regardless, the guy\'s actions were outta line, he -desperately needed- some nastiness directed his way. Back to the point, I apologize for the language. The cussing was uncalled for. You have to admit, though, that the little limerick/curse did wax somewhat eloquent, didn\'t it?... ;) When was the last time someone wished bleeding hemorrohoids upon you? If only Shakespeare were here to bash him properly...... <sigh> -LOE [Edited on 4/7/2003 by LordOfEntropy] |

I think it kinda works the same way it did for Dennis Rodman. You raise enough hell and the refs will be looking for you all the time and all the calls will go against you. Beleive me I know. [Edited on 5/7/2003 by BillyCarpenter1] |

I said I wasn\'t going to do this but here I go, one last try. BillyC, i\'m sure that what you said is true to some degree. I do look very hard at your and Gators posts. But it\'s what i\'ve come to expect from ya\'ll. Also BillyC, I do want to thank you for getting down to football talk and not slamming other members. That\'s what gets me about you Gator, If you\'d just stop slamming on other members i\'d stop editing your posts. If you notice when you talk football I never edit your posts. And if the truth be known Gator I used to respect your thoughts about football. But lately it\'s been very little football talk and more slamming me and other members. I do want to apologize for deleting your post on here calling me those names. I really wish i\'d left it. You\'re not going to hurt me calling me names, I do have more important things to worry about. This used to be fun for me, till you and I got into it. I\'m not a slammer. Don\'t want to be one. If you chose to then good. Do it, just don\'t slam other members. That\'s all I have ever asked. Those are the rules. That is what I was told to do by the editor of the board. Until that changes that is what I will continue to do.

JoeSam,
I understand. I really do. Nothing I ever said was meant to be personal. I know some members took it that way and I aplojize if I offened anyone. I have to respect the members on here that don\'t want to read all the trash talking. Truth be known, I\'d rather talk football but I\'m sure I\'ll talk a little trash every now and again. If I get out of control let me know.....Sometimes things become heated when discussing football. One thing about this site is that I am much more informed about Saints football this year and it is going to be very interesting to see who\'s opinions are right and wrong this year. I enjoy hearing from most of the members on here and this is what I have learned about them: 1.) B&B-- Sly and clever with the words. Make a mistake and he\'ll let your know. And for god\'s sake, don\'t insult the grammer gods. Any Who, on to the next one. 2.) WhoDat-- When debating football don\'t get off the subject at hand. Drives the guy crazy. Follow the issue at hand. Don\'t deviate. 3.) LummOX-- Better have some facts to base your opionions on. Don\'t come in saying because this is the way I feel or see it. 4. Smitty-- Straight and to the point. Don\'t complicate the matter. 5.) Rusta-- Common sense kind of guy. Has a way of simpifing things, which is the best way sometimes...... 6.) Gator-- Hmm.... I admit, I read Gator\'s posts first, because I never know what the guy is going to say and he doen\'t give a damn. 7.) JoeSam-- Without him, I get the feeling this site just wouldn\'t be the same. There would be no method to the madness. [Edited on 6/7/2003 by BillyCarpenter1] |

Thank you for the kind words BillyC. As for all the others you hit the nail on the head on all of them. We have some great people on here even Gator when he\'s himself. I even went back and read some of the private messages he has sent me in the past. I miss that Gator.

***EDIT*** I don’t like the name “Batwood, so I’m going to call you “Susie. It’s ok, I refer to all Succs fans that I talk football with by female names. I think it’s appropriate, in that we did beat you twice and made you our b!tches. So far, Susie, you managed to come here and spew nothing worthwhile, other than your feeble attempts at “poking the caged animal. But I’ll bite, since I’m bored. Seriously, I’ve gotten more constructive info from the hobo I kick every morning on my way to work. If idiotic banter was chicken, Susie here would be KFC. Plenty of extra-crispy, overcooked nuggets for all. Ok, Susie, let me go over this with some information that you might understand. I’ll try to go as slow as possible so not to confuse you. The teams that the Saints beat last year in the regular season held a combined record of 81-62, which is an average of 9-7 per team. The teams that the Succs beat last year in the regular season held a combined record of 82-108-2, which is an average of 7-9. The youth that we had on both sides of the ball showed during the games that we played lesser opponents. This leads me and plenty of others in believing that the Saints ran an unfortunate trend of looking ahead past other teams to the big games, and not taking it one week at a time. I know that the Succs, Packers, Giants, 49ers, and Eagles ALL breathed a sigh of relief when the Falcons made it to the playoffs and the Saints did not. It’s ok, you don’t have to admit it, I don’t think that I would be able to myself if the roles were reversed. The championship may be blinding for you at times, but I am nowhere near convinced that the best teams made it to the playoffs last year. But that’s the game of football, it’s why we play the games instead of filling in the scorecard. Just know this- the Saints still have the young, talented nucleus that we had a year ago (only with one year more experience) as well as the addition of a faster defense. Now that I think of it, I hate Tampa. It was quite easy for me to hate the football team as well. A city that will forever live in the shadow of the top dog in the state, Miami. No real comparison between New Orleans and Tampa, we party more, we have better food, and we play better football. Tampa has given us the Succs and Hulk Hogan. For that alone, go DIE! Better yet, go here: www.bucnup.com There you can play with all you Succs buddies, pull each others puds, and talk about how great it is to be a Succs fan. I’m sure Bucnup would welcome you with open arms. Seeyah later Susie, next time I want my shirt pressed and chicken pot pie ready for me when I see you. [Edited on 7/7/2003 by BlackandBlue] |

Good morning, good to see that this thread is still on the first page even though I\'ve been off the net since last thursday. Oh, and LordOfEntropy, you go right ahead and keep those creative insults going, good job! You see this BB stuff is really just entertainment and you are playing the role well unlike some of the thinned skinned weenies here that get thier undies in a bunch over some good ol\' rival off-season bantering. BlackandBlue, You want to fantisize about me being your girlfriend go ahead knock yourself out, whatever it takes I guess. Kind of off-topic to start the \"my city is better than yours\" smak but when you have the Saints as your team I understand. Great thing is regardless of what the Bucs do this season, repeat or not, we are Champs. You go and keep convincing yourself of the Saints greatness using opponant record stats of other teams and arbitrary reg. season games, You gotta reach for something in that horrid bag of history. Man the off-season is boring. ;) |

Bucs fans worried about Conwell
Batwood,
You think Lord was creative? B&B seemed to be pretty damn creative to me!! Keep going though. So far your loosing---BIG TIME !!!! Another thing. You seem to be under the dilusion that because the Bucs won the championship last year, that they are the champs this year. WRONG!! You can look at it any way you want but that ring means nothing this year. If you can prove to me that it does, one of us will be fooled. [Edited on 7/7/2003 by BillyCarpenter1] |

Actually just to add to my post....I\'d like Batwood to review the stats from the games last year and please tell me how many rushing yards the Bucs racked up against our porous run D. Then please look at what Deuce did against your #1 D. Keep in mind that this was Deuce\'s first start and then his bad ankle games. If I\'m not mistaken Deuce outrushed your offense 2 to 1. What are you bragging about with that comment?
I\'m not taking anything away from your big season, congradulations on winning it all. But to brag about Alstott running all over us is idiotic. If you call 6 carries for 11 yds in game 1 and 8 for 17 in game 2 carving us up then you\'re really reaching buddy. |

Batwood,
Here\'s the deal. The Bucs won the Superbowl and the Saints beat the Bucs twice last year. The goal is to win the Superbowl, which the Bucs did. There\'s nothing we can do or say that is going to change that. There is also nothing that Buc\'s fans can say or do to change the fact that the Saints were the better team last year when we beat the Bucs. Fact is, that the Saints have the Bucs number. We beat the bucs every way possible last year. Offense, Defense, and Special teams all out performed the Bucs in the perspective areas. The ring does nothing to change the facts that the Bucs could not beat the Saints last year. The Saints are clearly a team on the rise, while the Bucs with their problems at running back and off the field problems with the the police are clearly in trouble this year. The only thing the Bucs have going for them this year is most of their games are played on Sundays, which is the day that trustees get out of jail for good behavior. |

As far as the Bucs being Champs, they are and will REMAIN champs until another is crowned next February, so that ring means they are champs for the entire season. You\'ll see when the season starts and they still refer to the Bucs as \"The Champs\". And as far as lumm0x\'s stat, who cares, the Bucs had an atrocious year running the ball so the Saints efforts in that area were nothing special. It was not until the playoffs that the Bucs averaged over 100 yds. rushing per game anyway. And my comment about Alstott was more for the enjoyment of watching him break tackles, and was not touting the teams run game for the whole year. You took it that way. I am looking forward to the Bucs second season under Grudens offense. Like Jon said after lifting the Lombardi, \"you ain\'t seen nothing yet\" . It\'s going to be a tough season but since Denver did it no other team since has had the best chance of a repeat than the Bucs. Can they do it with a suspect run game again? maybe maybe not. All I know is you Saint fans cried all last year that Gruden couldn\'t do it (win the SB) in his fiirst year. I expect your predictions about him this year to be wrong again. You got a nice team but IMO until you get rid of Haslett at the helm you won\'t get over the hump. Kind of like how Dungy built the Bucs up to a point he could no longer get them over. The Saints lack motivation and focus from thier leader and without that the end of the season brings, well the end of the season. BlackandBlue, so you read my mission statement eh? ;) |

If it comforts you to think that the superbowl ring really means anything this year or it will help the Bucs chances of repeating, then, by all means, knock yourself out!! |

B&B,
your right about the \'old joke\' but hey, it still valid. :D I know the pic your talking about I just didn\'t want to link it. (it\'s on the strange cosmos site I think) Your comments about me assuming things (undies in a bunch) is the same for those that say your \"owned\". And yes it\'s all in fun. I liked LordofEntropy\'s insults the best, they were creative. BillyC, If I am losing credibility on a Saints BB I think I can handle it. :D BTW I never said that the ring will help this season I mearly stated that the Bucs will be champs until another is crowned next February. Oh, and if your not smiling when you finish making a reply you are taking these things way too seriously. |

Batwood,
Nothing taken seriously. Just a little friendly smack going on. I enjoy when rival fans come to the site. :D Not to take anything away from Lords insults, and if I were you, I\'d pick the ones I like the best too. :D But, B&B\'s insults were classic. Bucs fans worried about Conwell
Tampa Bay-Befitting a Super Bowl champion, the Bucs play a challenging schedule this season, one that the NFL ranks as the 4th toughest in the league this year. They have to travel to Philly to christen that new facility and of course that will be tough, but they should enter the bye week no worse than 2-1. That early bye is the only major drawback to a slate that sees them facing only the possibility of two cold weather games. One key will be how they do against the Saints, who beat them twice last year and obviously match up quite well with them. If Tampa loses to them twice again the likelihood of seeing them again in the playoffs would rise significantly, and rest assured that the Saints are the last team Tampa wants lining up across from them with the season on the line.
