Predictions anyone

I believe last year was an accumulation of small steps for the young team.
As the got the taste of the previous year out of their mouths and tasted
victory, it fired them up. They began to buy into Coach's mindset and it turned into a VERY successful season.
I also think that if they can overcome the Big Let Downs....i.e. the losses
to teams that the media actually had them favored in, that will help get them
back to the same level as last season. With a tougher schedule, and
the National Medias bias to small market teams, Peyton would do well
to still stoke the flames of underdogs throughout the season.

I believe they can go 10-6 and win there division and possibly homefield for
the first game. The losses coming against Indy, 2 (AGAIN) to Carolina, San Fran and there last two games against Philly and Chicago. But still puts
us sitting pretty to make a run. Now dont get me wrong, I would love to
see us 16-0 or even 14 and 2 but it is a tough schedule and they will have
to play hard and avoid the injury bug.
Well so much for my first Thread.
Thanks again for the welcome and a big WHO DAT to ALL!

Carolina will not be as lucky as they were the 1st game, and the 2nd game they didn't win, they got the game handed to them. Had the Saints needed that game, they'd have pulverized Carolina.

I think they will beat the Colts off the gates.

If the team picks up where it left off last season, and there aren't multiple injuries, I see 12 wins., with losses in the last 2-3 games because starters would be rested during 3rd and 4th quarters.

10-6 (barring injury)

But I'll tell you this, chicago and indy won't be one of the six!

If you plan on getting to the superbowl, you have to play and beat superbowl caliber teams. If we can't believe in our team to beat indy, then we can forget playoffs and superbowl.

We have a pretty decent schedule to me. Everyone says its so tough, based on last year, but we have gotten way better from last years season. I say 14-2 at best next season, dont forget we are a darn good road team

12-4 and home field advantage now thats my dream.
How did we sneak up on anyone after the Phili game? The NFL knew all about us. The broadcasters were the only ones having trouble with us. The only teams I am worried about is the teams with big defensive lines. Those teams killed us last year. But I think Shawn has done a good job at addressing that issue and another year as a unit will help.
I look for Shawn to have a game plan that is more intense than last year. Lets get this season started.

They can not lose to San Fran I am going to that game and, well, IT CAN'T HAPPEN!!!!!!!

CheramieIII 05-12-2007 09:35 AM

13-3 and we own the Eagles in the NFC Championship game. Old Rex catches up with the Bears this year.

We beat New England in the Superbowl 39-33!

12-4, IMO the Saints will be much improved from last year which is scary for everyone in the NFC.
Bush will understand the game better and will be much stronger, Deuce will explode, Brees will throw for 4000 yards due to his new WR's..
Colston will be a freak this year.
Our defense will finally be able to play the pass and be successful at it..

As I said 12-4 is how I see it but if they beat the Colts (good chance in beating the Colts because the Colts defense will stink) in week one they could turn out to be 13-3 as Cher stated.

I see 16 tough games so I'm going to wait and see.

We all thought Haslet had us headed in the right direction after his first year, too. I'm not going to speak against Payton because what he has done feels and looks different than it did with Haz, but still there is no point in expecting so much as 12 or 13 wins.

... I see what you are saying, but with Haslett, I had the feeling the Saints "got lucky". With Payton, you see an actual offensive system and the coaching. In Drew, Deuce, Reggie, Colston, Karney, you see leaders and playmakers. If the Saints falter next season, it will not be because of egoes and boneheads and don't care attitudes.

I see 12-4 with the best record in the NFC. That means the Superbowl will go thru New Orleans. I see the Bears, Seahawks and Eagles taking a step back, with the 49ers and rams making the playoffs. And within our divison, Falcons is one more dogfight from being a very crappy team, the Panther will not make an improvement from last year as long as Jake D is starting, I know alot of the locals here love Jake but I think we already seened the best of jake. And with the Bucs, Chucky is a one hit wonder, he wins with another mans team, then when he is ask to build his own he looks completely lost.

good arguments

Thanks for the additions. As I said at the beginning, I hope for an excellent
record, but again from what I saw last season the Saints still play down to
teams that they should beat and up for the ones that they should not.
(as in the Years past, Most always played S.F. well in the late 80's early 90's.
Hopefully they can focus out all of that and go in and play really well at home.
I think Cin, Baltimore, were home games...and Pitts a tough place to play
for any team. And the last game against Carolina was a backup game. So
4 losses that could have been wins. My 10-6 prediction is based on another
3 to 4 games where they falter and 1 or 2 where they already have that playoff spot secured. 12-4 isnt a stretch, but we will have to wait and
see how this defense and injury bug play out.
oh, and Jessica Albas got one fine Booootay. WHO DAT!
