Remember those LB had one of the best DL in the NFL playing in front of them.

Colston, Faine, Jhari Evans, Bryant Young in the Pro Bowl? So Steve Smith, Olin Kreutz, Steve Hutchinson, and Kevin Williams need to sit? I don't think so. I think you will see more Saints in the Pro Bowl this year, but I don't know about a "disgrace" I do agree with Carney, very underrated. Faine? this guy was hurt every year he was in Cleveland. Last year was his first healthly year since he has been in the league. No rookie is going to unseat Steve Smith and Torry Holt. We will have better representation this year no doubt.

To me, pro-bowls are things for agents to use to try and squeeze more money out of teams. Go back to the thread about Will Smith and Grant. They're both outstanding DE's but when Smith's contract talks start, the first thing his agent will say is, "yeah, but Smith made the Pro Bowl, so he deserves more than Grant." That may be the case, but it's not always so.

It's like winning the SB MVP. Remember Larry Brown from the Cowboys? O'Donnel basically handed him the ball three times and the next thing you know he's dupted a team into paying him WAY more than he's worth.

I'd rather see more W's on the schedule and in the playoffs and less Pro Bowls. That means you play as a team and win as a team. Ego's are kept in check and players "know their role and shut their mouth".

The Saints players being ignored has always happened. (i.e. Ricky Jackson) Faine is not a Pro Bowl center, he has had one good year last year. When you have Olin Kreutz, and Matt Birk in the same division, Faine won't be there. The fact he was hurt is previous seasons shows that he hasn't played at a consistent level since he has been in the league. Its not all about stats. It is doing it on a consistant basis and Faine has not done that. I hope to god he does.
The center position I think is a great concern going into this season. I hope we have a good back-up.

And I wasn't clear enough, Carney did deserve to go. I think Carney is extremely underrated. A lot better tha Mack Strong. So that's out the way

Bryant Young over Tommie Harris and Kevin Williams. Not going to happen. The worst part about this is that we passed on Kevin Williams for that Shawn Knight clone Sullivan. Ohhh that chapped my A$$!!!!!!!!!!
As far as stats go, Shanle had more tackles(97) than Julian Peterson(89) and missed the pro bowl, did he get screwed?

If you want to talk about screw jobs, Colston or Bush not being rookie of the year, now that is a screw job

Young had more of an impact than bush did. Thus he got rookie of the year, and Colston not making the pro bowl team was a shame though.

Are you making a case for Andy McCollum? Bulger threw for 4000 yards, Stephen Jackson ran wild, and don't forget about Tory Holt. How about Alez Stepanovich, Kitna threw for 4000 yards, Chad Johson, and Rudi Johnson had a 1000 yards. And don't forget about the Colts, oh wait there center was in the pro bowl. There is more to the game then stats.

I think Young was being overhyped by the media more than playing well, I was pulling for Colston!!!!

But it is all good, that's why this board rules!!!!!!!!!

The pro bowl "committee" is a vote of 1/3 fans. 1/3 players, and 1/3 coaches. It is completely flawed.
For fans it is a popularity contest; the players vote for teammates and friends, and against enemies.
You figure the coaches would be the most honest, but if I was a coach, I would never vote for any of my own players: risk of injury is not worth it, plus you keep them hungry.
