Bush and L.T

Workout together....

"Even though Bush threw up, he never gave up, impressing L.T. with his resolve."

Good article.

Tomlinson said it helps him to hit the hole quicker. If Reggie can do that, he'll be awesome. But if he continues to run in circles behind the line of scrimmage, he'll lose yards on a consistent basis. He began finding the hole easier during his last few games though, I'll give him that.

He is still learning. Scary part is how good he might be. This is going to be a fun ride with him.

CHACHING 05-28-2007 10:40 AM

I think that Bush is gonna blow up this year..

If he is half the RB LT is it'll be time to go jewelry shopping...

bobcat4u2 05-28-2007 01:27 PM

with the other weapons we have, bush will not be keyed on as much.he should have avery productive year,if we don't have a batch of freak injuries

saintsrule 05-28-2007 03:53 PM

I think Reggie will do alot better in the coming years. He was a rookie last year. He is getting better, just like LT and Deuce did.

well they are good buds. they were also in the celeb game with one another

BoudinSandwich 05-29-2007 01:41 PM

This makes me extremely happy because I'm a Chargers fan. (Live, breathe, bleed black and gold, but the Chargers are my favorite team. The Saints are my life, so it's understood that they have supreme placement.) And, what better way for Bush to train than with the best?

I'm so happy we have a football team again!

DeadmaN 05-30-2007 03:31 PM

good article
I see bush becoming one of the all time best HB to ever play the game
;)

I mean hell he has the talent and the heart
I think all he needs now is the experience and it's going to be off to the races

JOESAM2002 05-30-2007 05:53 PM

if he can get 15 td's he can blow chunks all day long!!!

CheramieIII 06-02-2007 06:25 PM

Bush will learn to stop trying to outrun everyone and just hit the damn hole. He will surpass LT someday, but LT remain one of the best, not my top five of all time but one of the best.

Bush will end up being the RB that everyone else is judged against!

I disagree, sort of. I think Bush is creating a new position in football. He's like a WR/HB hybrid. IMO, he's never going to carry the ball 30+ times a game in the NFL. He's an x-factor guy. He's almost as dangerous as a decoy as he is with the ball.

He definitely has first-ballot HOF potential, but he needs a system like the one he's in. A good qb and WRs and a power back to get the hard yards.

I seem to remember another running back that never quite 'hit the damn hole'.

Anyone remember some guy named, Barry Sanders?

Leave him alone and he'll grow boys.

Savant 06-04-2007 11:25 PM

Bush is not first of an RB/WR hybrid. But I do think he might take it to the next level. And I think we've learn from past workhorse players that carrying the ball 30+ times a game is not benifical in the long run (no pun intended). Who knows how well Duece would of held up if it wouldn't have been for Reggie. I want to see both of them have long careers. And sharing the load is the best way to do it.

I agree with most of what you said but...
and this is a big but...
As far as bush creating a new position in football?
I strongly disagree!!
There have been lots of RB’s that have turned out to be deadly threats both out of the back field and in the secondary on passing downs
One RB in particular that comes to mind is Edgerrin James
Players like him have proven that you can have power, speed and grate hands all rolled into one. As I said before I do agree with most of what you said and I do think Bush will excel at this type of play where the RB is a danger to the defense on passing downs and I'm sure the Saints will use this to there advantage, as they should...
but to say he is the first?
Nahhhh!!!!
No way!!
and I’m sure he will not be the last
;)

WhoDat205 06-05-2007 11:21 AM

Maybe I was wrong to say "new position", but I haven't seen a lot of HB's line up in the slot on a regular basis. That's what I'm getting at. When he's in the slot and Deuce is at HB it opens so many options: Deuce handoff, Bush on a reverse/trap, fake reverse/trap - pass downfield, etc...

I'm not saying he's the first HB to ever catch well or a lot...he's just the first that I recall being so versatile in regards to where he can line up. I don't watch a lot of Cards games, but does Edge not always line up in the backfield? Even Marchall Faulk spent most of his time in the backfield.

The biggest advantage to having Reggie is the "what's he gonna do factor". As soon as the huddle breaks the defense is looking for #25. You put him on a team without a feature power back and you make him more one dimensional.

Bottom line: there aren't many players that compare to Reggie Bush.

WillMacKenzie 06-05-2007 11:27 AM

I like the fact that he wears 25 and Deuce wears 26. It's harder for them to pinpoint who exactly is on the field.

DeadmaN 06-05-2007 11:35 AM

oh no doubt he is absolutely a player to look out for
and you hit the nail on the head
when him and duce are in the back field at the same time big things should happen

We ain't seen nothin yet!

Folks, I think we won't believe what we see out of Reggie this year. He will do things you will have to TEVO and replay in super-slowmo to see.

I don't care what anyone labels him as, as long as they are left rubbing their eyes and jaws on the floor.

I'm telling you, Reggie has shown us nothin' yet.
