this is good, i felt like thomas got a bad shake last year, how many games did he play in a cast? i remember seeing him make plays in the chicago game specifically that would have been INT\'s if he had had two hands

Thomas has the size and scrappiness to be an ideal nickel back. The problem is that he overachieves so much that he keeps re-winning a starter role. With Ambrose\'s age it\'s hard to envision him as a starter. One thing he does bring is that he is smart and savvy. He gives up alot of balls to his man but doesn\'t give up many big ones. Hopefully he can be a positive mentor to Craver for a year or two. I can see us playing stop-gap corner for this year until Craver develops into a starter and we can go after a big time FA next offseason like Springs, Woodson or Bailey.

Ambrose to nickel back...
At least we will have some competition this year at the corner back position. But lets face it. Our conerbacks aren\'t shut down corners, not even Dale Carter.
If our fromt four gets pressure on the QB--our conerbacks will be effective, if not, it could be trouble. I\'m starting to get excited about our frout four combination of: J.T. Sullivan, Darren Howard, Charles Grant, and a much improved Kenny Smith. Grady Jackson is an unknown right now, but if in shape he would be ideal. |
