Yeah, Da Bears are heading to .500 land in a hurry. Good think Lovie redid his contract when he did.
|
He'll be a Bengal within the hour.
|
LOL... that gave me a nice laugh.
|
I don't believe someone should be cut from a team, because of something off the field. But he has to understand about racial profiling. I hope the Saints try to get him signed.

HEY!! What's that supposed to mean, exactly?? x(

"He was driving 40 in a 25 and was released after a Slightly Impaired DUI stop".
I am no legal expert by any stretch of the imagination, but this sounds like an issue of speeding, with a low BAC when tested for alcohol. This should be enough to get him off of any possible DUI charges, but maybe enough to get him back in jail. From what I read in the past, most jurisdictions can still charge a person with DUI even when that person is under the .08 threshold. Probably only matters in the sense of legal terms for Tank, more jail time or not. Either way, I would bet he gets his suspension from the NFL extended to include the entire 2007 season. The Saints should not even think about signing this guy. What a dork... |
Here is what one fan wrote.....
"He was arrested for owning enough guns and ammo to equip a Tank. The Bears Tanked in the Super Bowl. He served 60 days in the Tank and ate enough junk food to fill a Tanker. He was Tanked for eight games by new Commish, and then got pulled over for being slightly Tanked. Now he's been cut, and he's left holding his Johnson. I'd say they gave this guy the perfect name."

Tank!
After a nights sleep on it... GO GET HIM!!!
I agree with ESPN that in a couple of weeks he'll start generating interests and he will be signed by someone. They even mentioned "a team like New Orleans". He'll miss 8 weeks with the suspension but but he'll be there for the last leg of the seasona and our SB run. |
yes it seems like clayton thinks we are interested in him...
http://rotoworld.com/content/clubhou...NFL&majteam=NO for the second one u need NFL Insider to read it.. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors |
Only if he's cheap and has a 0 tolerance policy that voids his contract if he continues his John Sullivan behavior. Even then, I'd make him a backup unitl he proves he is worth it. We have Clancy, Thomas, and Young who are solid DTs plus the rotation guys. He'll probably get a big contract from Dallas or the Raiders.
BTW, is Brooks on anyone's roster? |
All it takes is one player with a history of run-ins with the law to spark a team's downward spiral. Maybe a couple of players like him, want to start hanging out with him, soon, a few more, then the inevitable happens and that player does something else to get in trouble and the team releases him. Now his 'friends' ,who have grown to like him and buy in to the BS he spouts, take an attitude with the powers that be. Shortly thereafter you have a divided locker room and all the hard work that was put into building a championship caliber team is suddenly teetering on becoming a Bengals team. You may say this view is extreme but I say, after all the years of seeing what used to be in our locker room, do you really want to chance it? Taking a chance with a borderline player when we know we can make a Superbowl run with what we have?

I say pass and look at Walker from the Bills. |
Sign Tank Johnson, with Roger Goodell running this ship like 'Dirty Harry', what are the chances if the Saints were to sign Tank "Cover Me!!!" Johnson, they would wind up losing day 1 draft picks, or the other penalties that may affect the Saints?
DON'T DO IT, LOOMIS!!!! |

I respectfully disagree, when you go to jail, miss eight games when you're team needs you and then violate your probation, you're a 'cancer'. And now the team doesn't have him at all. You don't see any adverse effects that has on the Bears? Why chance that with this team? And as far as Dillon, Simmons and buddy are concerned, you're comparing apples to oranges, they aren't bringing negative baggage in terms of prison time and another run-in with the law. And the reason this team is focused and on a 'mission' is because we don't have players like that here to disrupt with outside activity. And one player, if allowed to stay on the team, can bring down a whole team. maybe not entirely by himself but he can go a long ways towards that end. Just ask anyone associated with T.O.

A commited Tank may pan out to be another in a long line of windfalls blessing the Saints, through strange circumstances. Brees..Colston..Simmons..Fujita..Matrix.. You get the picture. Tank is a stud, and wouldn't cost a draft pick. How often would prospects of his caliber even fall to us in the draft? If he doesn't work out... Oh, well. We'll move along. The sun will still rise the next morn. The Saints will still be contenders. |

Say what you will about TO, but he's one of the most feared WRs in the league. Jones vouches for him, and that's good enough for me. |
He isn't a thug... and he did his time and now the NFL's suspension, there has been other players to get DUI's but I don't think it will result in any more games. This DUI as weird that they called it SLIGHT. Get him a check and a jersay and tell him to take a cab for now on.
We are way to close to being serious contenders... its a slight risk and huge reward. See you week 9, Tank. |

He's a quality DT that will come at a big discount. I think the team should seriously consider persuing Tank. |
Which Bear Brass was the one that actually pulled the trigger on Tank? We all know it wasn't Lovie!
From what we've seen of Lovie, he will stick it out with a player through thick and thin....take Grossman for example. Now "Rexy" 'aint no "Tank". It seems odd to me that the Bears would be so quick to eject Tank unless word came down from above that Tank has to go to save face for our organization. Now on to the traffic stop.... Why aren't the Bears waiting to see the outcome? The officer could have pulled Tank over for "suspicion" and halfway into the routine, realized he had nothing and had no choice but to let him go. Maybe the "slight impairment" comes as a result of backpeddaling by the officer to cover his own a$$.... |
And as far as signing Tank to the Saints.... I'm still up in the air.
Risk vs. Reward. Does it balance for Coach Payton? Has he EVER tipped the scales in the favor of risk? He's already done his "spring cleaning" of the organization.... Why would he want to bring a dirty dog into his clean house? On the other hand, having him in the organization for 8 games at no risk could benefit our team tremendously. Smith, Grant, Tank???? |
