Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints WR Robert Meachem (knee) is ahead of schedule with the rehab on his injured knee, according to Troy Asmus, the director of marketing and public relations for Momentum Sports Group.

Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports Jeff Griffin, agent for New Orleans Saints' first-round draft choice WR Robert Meachem (knee), would like to start contract negotiations with the Saints around July 9.

Meachem said he's ahead of schedule on his rehab? Really? With millions of dollars on the line he didn't say that, in fact, his knee is worse off now than before?

Just a little sarcasm for the report and the reporter (not the post and the post-er, by the way). What else is he going to tell people at this point?

I hope his learning curve is ahead of schedule.
