Female Saints Fans: Where y'at?
 

I'm new to this site but I love it!! (Pretty much anything Saints related is tops in my book!) Hopefully there are some other female fans out there like me who've supported the team before it was cool to be a Saints fan. If i'm the only Saints Chiquita here, it's all good! (Just be gentle guys!)

There are a few women members and it seems their number is growing. I for one am glad to see it. Welcome aboard.

I'm cool hangin' out with the guys. I'm in Eagle territory so I need some kind of way to be in touch with my "who dat" posse! Can't wait til 9/6/07.

Hi Nolachick! Welcome to the board. Its an awesome board with great members but its really nice to have another female on here.

I've pretty much bored every female friend I have with Saints talk. Finally, I can let it all out with some peeps who feel my pain. I just watched that youtube video on the top ten Saints plays of 2006 and it sent chills down my spine. The season can't start soon enough!

oh, i feel your pain, because I moved out of the eagle territory a year and a half ago, so i know where you are comin from. i'm the lone saints fan in a family full of eaglets. welcome.

I am a guy, but I would like to ask the women on here, what do you like most about the Saints? And I would like to say that the Saints and other southern team, seem to have the most female fans.

Well for me, I started watching football when most of you guys probably did. My dad was a season ticket holder and he took me and my sisters to all the games as a kid. Even though the team... er, well let's just say they weren't doing so well, I still loved them. I loved the sport, I loved my dad's passion for a losing team, and I loved being in the stands. Once I finally understood the sport of football, my passion took hold of me. I grew up to become a season ticket holder. Losing a game would ruin my week. Winning a game would leave me on cloud nine. Eventually, I went from loving the saints to loving football in general. Now I watch college religiously (go Tigers!) and even Arena football to pass the time. And I think the saints have the best fans in the world. Sure we wore brown bags, but at least we were in the stands damn it!
(Sorry, I know you didn't ask for this monologue, but this is one topic that gets me all fired up!)

Welcome, it's always good to have another fan aboard (guy or girl). It's also nice to see another fan here in Eagles territory, it's a tough area to be another team's fan.

Hello long time Saints fan. Recently joined the forum.

Haven't been here in a loooonnnnggggg time but I'm a girl. Where in Eagles territory? I'm from the York, PA area originally (my dad's an Eagle fan) but in MS now.

I don't know if the Saints have the most female fans; but for the most part, I think most male Saints fans accept the female fans without any problem and better than I suspect a lot of teams' male fans would. I became passionate about the Saints largely out of a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" philosophy (I didn't need one more thing that excluded me out of my husband's life and Sundays are the only day we get to spend together). I never hated football before but never became rabid about it and now I'm rabid. I have to admit that a large part of the Saints appeal has been its "underdog" status and I'm usually for an underdog! Now that that status no longer applies, I'm a fan just because they're a great team and a team that is devoid of your more notorious prima donna head cases [cough]TerrellOwens[cough].

I'm in philly, deep in enemy territory. But my heart is still back home in the NO! I thought my friends and I were going to get drawn and quartered when we went to a philly sports bar and watched the saints game wearing our jerseys. We talked so much trash during that game! (Good thing we won!) Living in philly has made me loathe the eagles even more. Especially the way their fans take every opportunity to make katrina jokes when their team starts to suck. Alas, we saints fans had the last laugh last year. And we will this year too!

I'm a looooong suffering Saints fan but grew up in Iggles territory. Last season was truly a thing of beauty... did 'em once in the eye during the regular season, then in the other eye for the playoffs.

They're STILL wincing when I talk about Deuce running all over the fabled 'Gang-Green' defense!

Maybe the Saints fans in the Del-Val can get together for a game sometime!

I'm so bummed I can't get direct tv at my new place. (I used to have the NFL package, making Sundays more magical than ever.) So if you ever want to go to a sports bar in philly to watch the saints kick tail, let me know.

i'm a female fan in my family growing up if you weren't you were disowned i've thrown ppl out of my house for talking smack about my boys lol. I've also made grown men cry and burn hats of opposing teams hee hee ahhh memories

There's no way to quantify that. I love everything about the Saints and especially going to the games. Saturday night trash talking at Pat Obriens, pregaming in the Quarter on Sunday, walking to the game while taunting opposing fans, watching the Saints, then postgaming back in the Quarter. Game weekends are unbelievable!

Glad to see all of these female B&G fans. You ladies need to stop in more.

Another female fan here outside of OUR territory..... in Lions territory (ugh!)

I had season tickets from 1989 to 1999 until we moved to Michigan. Since 1999 we travel to see a minimum of 3 Saints games per year, but usually make a more than 3.

We're in the process of selling our home in Michigan so we can move back to New Orleans and are on the waiting list for season tickets yet again.

I think we should start a female fan group to travel to 1 or 2 Saints games per year. I know of at least 3 females who would be interested in going.... Last January four of us went to the game against the Bears. While the Saints were unsuccessful in clinching that game, we had great fun over that weekend.
