Saints to unveil new website today!!!
This afternoon at 5:30 pm CT, the New Orleans Saints will re-launch NewOrleansSaints.com. The redevelopment process has been a year long audit and review of the site and after interviewing dozens of web development and hosting companies, we are proud to announce and deliver to our fans a new and exciting look to NewOrleansSaints.com.
Internally, the re-design and re-launch of the site has been managed by team Senior Director of New Media Doug Miller with assistance from Communications Assistant Dave Lawrence. The online presence of the New Orleans Saints for the past five seasons has been given a dynamic facelift, resulting in the debut of a brand new website. In conjunction with Seattle-based Cypress Consulting, a full-service web development agency, NewOrleansSaints.com represents the fourth major redesign since the site’s online debut in 1997. The newly designed NewOrleansSaints.com will serve as the platform as the ultimate destination for fans of the Saints. Users of NewOrleansSaints.com will immediately experience new features including a major upgrade in multi-media functionality utilizing Flash videos, a more prominent and user-friendly photo gallery section, up-to-the-minute breaking news features, player features, and updated player and front office biographies in a new, cleaner look. In the coming weeks, NewOrleansSaints.com will feature player and coach daily blogs, the announcement of the 2007 Saintsations roster and biographies, as well as new contests and promotions. The website development began following the 2006 season and dramatically enhances the Saints’ online capabilities, taking advantage of the latest in online technology. A growing number of sports teams and entities are making the transition from static and tried-and-true websites to websites that feature greater media productions, which greatly enhance the user’s interaction. We, as an organization, strongly believe that these changes will better showcase our team and enhance our fans and sponsors experience on NewOrleansSaints.com. The new look of the website incorporates three main characteristics: a cleaner and more bold appearance that incorporates the unique sites of New Orleans and the Gulf South region by marrying the strong and dynamic images of the Saints through the integration of Flash technology in the headers. A streamlined site that allows users to quickly find the information that they are seeking and the ability to present information to our fans in new and exciting ways, including the growing presence of Saints TV. Imagery is vital to the new NewOrleansSaints.com and we feel that the new website will allow us to better utilize the amazing images that our official team photographer, Michael C. Hebert, captures. With the added availability to produce and edit video productions, our fans will be able to get behind-the-scenes of the team like never before with the advent of Saints TV. Saints TV will grow rapidly over the course of the next year. We will be able to get our fans interviews, footage and behind-the-scenes programming that the fans can watch on demand and also be able to download to their Ipods and MP3 players. Our vision is to create short, informative segments which give our fans immediate access to the news and happenings of the Saints in short order. We listened to what our fans and sponsors wanted from an online experience and developed a site that will continue to grow and evolve. We have been extremely pleased with the hands-on and aggressive approach that we have experienced with Cypress Consulting. Cypress Consulting has worked with Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft and Hewlett Packard, as well as with such other notable companies such as Starbucks, College Sports TV and the Seattle Seahawks. They certainly understand the user-experience and the passion associated with partnering with a professional sports franchise that has such a fevered fan base. lace w:st="on">Cypresslace> has proven to be very forward-thinking and understands the thirst that our fans and sponsors have for greater interactivity through our website. The new NewOrleansSaints.com will maximize on the rich-media platform, allowing users with broadband capabilities an enhanced online experience. |
