Did Vick bet on NFL games

The real money in dogfighting is not from the purses, but from the gambling. I guarantee you that Vick and his cronies liked to bet on which dog could maul another. It isn't unreasonable to think these guys, including Vick, also liked to wager on other events, such as football. Who knows, maybe Vick helped to make sure the Falcons did or didn't cover the spread when his friends had money riding on it.

Okay, page one..... Michael Vike also known as "Ookie"???? I just can't read any further. That's just too damn funny!! I mean, what bad-ass thug gets the nickname "Ookie"???

Almost as unimaginative as Ron Mexico!!

DeadmaN 07-20-2007 11:24 AM

Although you may be right…
In the end it’s only speculation

21counterZ-trap 07-20-2007 11:24 AM

Maybe he killed Jimmy Hoffa too

stockman311 07-20-2007 11:44 AM

Don't forget he was the second gunman on the grassy knoll, and he is the love child of the loch ness monster and Bigfoot.
I think he may have been housing pits at Area 51 as well.

The second gunman, I can believe. But the love child of the Lochness monster and Bigfoot? Now that is being ridiculous.

LOL, hey FlexD, you took those crackbacks on your original post in good spirits. I'm impressed.

As I was reading this thread, the same thing came to my mind.

WhoDat205 07-20-2007 01:11 PM

I bet on football games.

BJSim 07-20-2007 02:11 PM

He bought the dogs... that's what's going to kill him in the long run. Doesn't matter if he was present for any of the training, breeding, or combat. Vick bought the dogs, and I'm betting a witness or two will point him out in court as such.

BJSim 07-20-2007 02:18 PM

Two (more) stories on Vick...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2943456

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2943276

The first is how PETA & the ASPCA are demanding the NFL suspend Vick for the year. The second is hw the NFL is asking Vick to volunteer to sit out the season without pay.

I'm not saying there's disparity in the league, but Jones was suspended once the charges were brought up. The ProBowl QB gets asked to sit out the season with pay? That's BS.

mikesaintfan 07-20-2007 02:47 PM

mabie it should be

vick may be asked to take leave

Falcons | Vick may be asked to take leave of absence
Fri, 20 Jul 2007 07:54:48 -0700

Len Pasquarelli and Chris Mortensen, of ESPN.com, report Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick could be urged by NFL, NFLPA and Atlanta Falcons officials to take a voluntary leave of absence and to focus his energies on the legal challenges from a federal dog fighting indictment confronting him, according to sources. Under such a scenario, Vick would likely miss the entire 2007 season. According to a league source, all parties involved are trying to seek a resolution before the Falcons begin training camp Thursday, July 26. "Something one way or the other is going to have to happen...by the start of training camp," the source said.

Actually, his biggest problem will be where he bought the dogs- supposedly from at least 3 different states. Once they were trnasported across state lines it became a federal isuue.

Euphoria 07-20-2007 06:41 PM

The problem is that Vick himself is a license dog breeder. Sure he bought dogs but he is linked to selling the dogs accross state lines for the purpose of dog fighting which will end up a major issue, not to mention the purchase of house and property/providing a means for this operation to exist.
There is also witness's that are claiming he was the guy who would hand deliever some of the big 'kitties' (winnings) to the owners ect.
All sorts of rumours going on tight now though including a deal maybe worked out where he serves little to no time. The other is that they want to make him the face of illegal dog fighting so they want to set an example.

My thoughts exactly.

Somewhere I heard (ESPN, FOX, CNN...somewhere) that they oughta rub him down with liver and lock him in a room with his 'prized' pitts. Personally, I think this is an excellent idea. I would only hope they'd film it so I could watch it over and over and over and over and over...

hagan714 07-21-2007 08:36 AM

u-tube will have that posted. If he is guilty he will be a poster child peta. He will be done. they will follow him every where he goes and make life a living hell for all he is involved with

That's sick. I do agree, however. I also think that he (if indeed guilty) and all involved should get the whole treatment. Starting with the "rape stand". Then get torn up by animals long enough to deem "useless" then drown them.
