Well...........

at least they look much better tonight. Palko even looks pretty good. Jason David needs to learn to play man to man. Way to much cushion. With that much space he couldn't cover me. Reggie looks like.........well Reggie, super game for the little he played. Drew was Drew, I guess we just know what to expect from him. Deuce didn't show much, don't understand that other than maybe he wasn't in the game plan much. Dev looked really good tonight. Overall much better performance by the first team offense and defense. Second string offensive line looks pretty good so far. I hope they keep it up in the second half.

Your thoughts?

First action I have actually seen and as my post suggest I aggreeeee. Now I have to Scalp a few Carolina tickets!
Was real pleased from that drive that got blocked until that block! Ah well we got a few weeks to work out the kinks. Looking forward to seeing that backup QB myself.

Re: Well...........

We played better against a weaker opponent which I would expect given it was our second game, our starters were out there much longer, and it was Buffalo's first game. I really liked what I saw out of Henderson and Copper. I don't like the way our Oline is run blocking yet, but with two starters out that is understandable. I ablsolutely love Clancy and Lake. I don't think Hollis Thomas is going to see much starting action this year.

Steady improvement and no injuries is the name of the game in preseason. Also, nice job of Payton not letting the game go to OT by kicking a FG in the end.

Re: Well...........

I also thought Devry looked great! The Fullback Dudley is a nice. Charles Grant is in BEAST form. MM is solid. Jason David needs alot of work. Roman Harper...I love how he plays...he jus need reps. LBs could make a few more plays. Drew is Drew. Reggie is Reggie. Deuce will be Deuce. Josh Bullocks or KK...I dont know yet. O-line created a few beautiful pockets. Special Teams was kinda shaky. Payton called some good plays...but it gets questionable the closer we get to the endzone...He did this alot last year too. Meachem even showed up and made a play tonight! Didn't see too much Colston. Copper is a nice lil football player. Clancy had some really good plays. Wish we could have gotten more pressure from the D-Line.

Overall. It was alot better than last week. They played hard!!

Re: Well...........

That was a nice opening drive except for the blocked FG.
Reggie will have brake out season.
Drew will be MVP.
Devery looks like a Probowler.
Defense still has work cut out, but will be better.
Overall the Saints look like what I thought, a real Superbowl contender.
GO SAINTS!

What happened to all the.."oh no...we are in trouble" posts?!? Guys need to relax....we will do just fine this year.

Re: Well...........

Lance Moore looks like he may have a chance to make the team. Grants open field tackle was awesome. Brees is one of the most accurate passers I have ever seen. The Bills defense is NOT the Steelers defense. Meachum looks like he has recovered. No injuries, that was good. Looking way better than last week

Re: Well...........

actually if you want to be honest about it, our defense sucked. and I won't say any names, JASON DAVID and the rest of the linebackers. sure, they had maybe a few nice plays, but consistency... - back to the drawing board.

with dudley doing so well...is there a possibility we take 2 FBs into the season?

it would be a shame to let him go to another team...maybe use him as a TE at times to justify it

this is a little confusing as it implies that jason david is a linebacker. of course, the LBs are a lesser unit without Fujita in there...

i wonder if whoever loses the bullocks-kevorkian(i know) battle could play some at corner? They'd have to be better than Thomas or Craft, right?

I think he will make the practice squad. I don't think we have the roster space to keep him active unless he can play special teams. He did look like a runaway train, so maybe he could cover kicks

Re: Well...........

He does look good but he ain't Carnivore. If it's left up to him just playing fullback, I don't see where they will keep him. There are just to many depth problems at other positions. I do like him though. I still want Pierre Thomas on this team. He did well last night on special teams.

yeah I didn't mean it like that, I meant Jason David, in particular on the MEGAscreen giving up just about any pass play the bills desired...he'd probably be solid in a zone scheme tho

And the linebackers, while they didn't have fujita, still reminded me of a wet paper bag. : (

craft and thomas, I'm completely done watching them, and I'm also getting tired of seeing McFlimsy too.

I'd like to get a better look at usama young! And maybe they should try this lineup starting at linebacker next game

Shanle, Simmons, Fujita. Simoneau just seems like he has a tough time shedding blockers!

Re: Well...........

yeah the secondary still worries me id like to see some turnovers, and some passes defended .looks like everytime the other team has an incomplete pass its cause of a bad throw or the receiver dropped it, not our defenders knocking it down

you know, Simoneau reminds me of former LSU linebacker Thomas Dunson, in that he leads the league in the "jumps on pile" category. Im all for Simmons.

Re: Well...........

part of the problem with the secondary is that we use SO MUCH MAN TO MAN. Its obvious we don't have the CB's to use that much man to man.

Re: Well...........

Just wanted to agree with an earlier post...........THANK YOU PAYTON FOR NOT GOING INTO OVERTIME!!!! I was happy with the outcome of that game, and didn't want to see someone get hurt on a meaningless OT play in a meaningless game. Good smarts for the 2nd year coach.

Doubt it. He will make the team and be our second FB. After what happened to our FB's against Cleveland last year...I doubt Payton will take any chances.
