CINCINNATI - Middle linebacker Mark Simoneau appeared to get kicked in the right shin late in the first quarter.

He was replaced in the lineup by former Bengals linebacker Brian SImmons, who signed with the Saints as a free agent this spring.

Simoneau was seen on the sideline with the shin, as well as the knee joint, wrapped in ice. His return was unlikely.
