Ninkovich released to make room for Palko
very surprised by this move. hope this doesn't cost us. maybe he goes to practice squad?
ROSTER MOVE: On Thursday the New Orleans Saints waived DE Ron Ninkovich and signed QB Tyler Palko from the practice squad. Palko is the third quarterback this evening, meaning that he will be in uniform. He is eligible to play under NFL rules provided that: 1) if the third quarterback enters the game, he is required to report to the Referee; 2) he must play at the QB position, and the other two quarterbacks become ineligible to participate and may not return to the game thereafter under any circumstances, unless the quarterbackâs initial entry into the game is in the fourth quarter or an overtime period. |
Re: Ninkovich released to make room for Palko
Do we have a link for this? I found it.
http://www.neworleanssaints.com/Game%20Day/Seasons/2007%20Schedule/Game%201%20-%20at%20Indianapolis.aspx Not sure this surprises me that much. Nincovich never played that much, even last year. What surprises me is that we have so little depth at DE. |
Re: Ninkovich released to make room for Palko
i was gonna link it, but cut/paste worked just as well which i did, but yes, i too worried about whole D-line depth, esp with injury issues at DT.

Re: Ninkovich released to make room for Palko
the only this tells me is that Young is ready to play and that Thomas has dropped a few more ounces and can contribute

Re: Ninkovich released to make room for Palko
It looks like the next Saints move is to sign Renaldo Wynn and release Ronnie Ghent. I don't think the Saints are crazy enough to try to get by with only 3 DE's. Another possibility is Mark Campbell heading to IR then signing Wynn.

He might be hurt more than we thought.
