I don't think anyone deny's that. I think the problem to is that the AFC is far more better than NFC teams now, that we'd end up in the SB representing the NFC but put us up against the top 5 or so AFC teams and we'll get beat.

Well that's depressing. I suppose I should stop watching now since I know that the Saints will lose in the Superbowl.

Come on... put the top 4-5 AFC's against any NFC team you want. You tell me who is going to win out of the NFC? Look at who's won the SB in recent years... hmmm.

I can understand what Ice is coming from. What's the point of us even watchin only to get embarass in the Big Dance. No one will ever give the Saints the level of respect until we win the whole thing. For now, I can only wait until 9/16. They got plenty of time to get their act in gear.

Let's talk about Tampa. I'm worried about what a marginally decent QB (Garcia) can do with the Galloway/Stovall/Clayton/Boston/Hilliard poo-poo platter because if you didn't notice, Chris Simms is a poor QB. I'm not sure the D can stop Caddilac, either.

If Smith can't take a rookie in his first game, what's he going to do against Petitgout?

And thanks to Peyton and Dungy, there's now a three hour instructional video on how to shutdown the Saints using the Tampa 2.

If the team can't run on Indy, how are they running on Brooks and Co.? Can Brown handle the rookie?

I just hope the Team isn't buying the BS that the NFC South is the worst division in football. Carolina sucks, but that's personal. Atlanta is probably in better hands with Vick gone and there's not exactly a lot of tape to study on the Petrino-led Falcons. Tampa is going to surprise a lot of people, too. Garcia's not washed up yet. We're in a dog fight (excuse the pun) and the other three teams in this division smell blood at the top.

I understand what you're saying. Especially after last nights debacle. The Colts were unquestionably the best team on the field last night but since it was the first game of the season I wont throw the whole thing away until I see more of the Saints.
I believe that the Saints will work out the kinks and get better as the season goes on. If I thought that this season is hopeless I wouldn't be able to watch.

It was a game against the defending superbowl champions and the Colts indeed looked like champions. The Saints looked horrible but they'll get better.

Really, we didn't look good in one area (except Weathford) but it still only counts as one loss

I have to agree with Whodat. Every team will now study the Colts game plan from last night to try and shut down the Saints. That was what was most disappointing about last night that Payton and Brees couldn't figure out how to break the Colts coverage. There is plenty of time to correct this but if we don't it's going to be a long season.

We're all assuming that the way the Saints played last night is going to be representative of the way they'll play for the rest of the year. We looked slow, confused, overpowered, tentative and abandoned the gameplan way too early.

Well, as I read the above, yeah, we got some problems. That's a lot to correct in 9 days.

Last year the players played like they would get cut if they didn't perform. This year they're playing like they should have someone ice their toes after each down.

Exactly, this is just the 1 poor performance that all team go through every season. The Saints just did it in week 1 on national television.
