Gasper and Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, report New England Patriots CB Asante Samuel's contract with the team prevents him from being franchised again next season should he play in 60 percent of the defensive snaps or the team wins 12 games in 2007, according to a source with knowledge of Samuel's contract.

we are waiting for the terms to be ironed out. that would give the pats 3 in next years draft. doubt it but fun. maybe a pick in 2009.
maybe Smith or Grant.

hehe but the pats do need a DE and they are known to cut there losses before they become losses.
