Changes
With coach hinting that some starters may be riding the pine this week, if you were wearing the headset, who would you sit and for whom?
|
Re: Changes
Devery for Moore and Mare for a free agent kicker. Also keep Simmons in the lineup... as for whom to bench, I don't know. They're all underperforming.

Re: Changes
Sit Henderson, insert Moore. Sit Freddie, insert Young. Retire the single back set with Reggie, and pair Reggie with Karney for lead blocking, pass protection, and counter balance with a few carries and catches. It will make a big difference in Drews comfort in the pocket and give him options that he has not had till now. It will allow Reggie to be more free: motion to the slot and 2-3 opportunities to get into the secondary with a head of steam.

Re: Changes
I agree with the countering, I was thinking the same thing the other day

Re: Changes
This is going to seem radical, but we are 0-4:
Simoneau/Simmons, Freddie/Young, Henderson/Moore, Shanlee/Evans or Mitchell, Clancey/Hollis, Bullocks/KK, Offensive Line ?? (do something), New kicker. Pierre Thomas behind Karney, Reggie in the slot/motion, Get Meachem dressed so we can see what he can do. When is the trading date deadline? |

Dev will definitely fall on the deapth chart, though. Unfortunately, I have no confidence in Patten or Copper. I know that Alleman was taking reps at Center in TC, so I'm curious how that worked out. I'd like to see him get some reps, but I don't expect it. I would not be surprised to see Strief in there for Stinch, but I doubt Brown will sit, even if it is on the merits of last season. |
Re: Changes
Trading dealine is October 16th.

Re: Changes
What is the latest on Vanderjagt?

Re: Changes
No news yet, maybe sometime today.

Re: Changes
He has got to be a step up from Mare. I know the Tuna kicked him to the curb last year, but man, we've got to get someone in there.

Re: Changes
Cutting Devery and Meachem is about the most ridiculous idea I've heard. You don't waste a 1st round pick on a player and cut him 4 games into a rookie season where he hasn't played a down. Same with Devery. He's about the only guy on this WR with some deep speed. He can't catch worth a damn but he needs to overcome that. And we desperately need some big plays and he is one of 2-3 individuals with the potential to deliver that.
My thoughts for lineup changes would be Kaesviharn over Bullocks. Josh plays with zero passion and from my perspective, has poor instincts. Kevin may be slower and have less athleticism, but he has the mind for the game and he plays with aggression. Secondly, I fully agree that we need to ditch the single back formation and let Reggie or Pierre run behind Karney's lead. And run Karney more on quick hits up the middle. He is good for 3 yards everytime. You need 3 he'll get you 3. You need 10, he'll get you 3. Other moves that could be effective are to give more corner time to Young and Craft ahead of Thomas. Craft scares the hell out of me back there as well but I am fed up with Thomas entirely. Jammal Brown has become a complete turd this year. Streif looks better than him already but that doesn't help the fact that Stinchcomb has been brutal as well. Our o-line looks like a decimated group considering it's the full starting 5 from last year. I don't even know where to start with fixing them. |
