He goes down very easily when he can be touched but give him a little space and he makes people miss or simply runs away from them. I fear seeing us come out and fail to run the ball and go away with nothing in a series or two, get behind and then be unable to get stride offensively because we can't rush the ball and start forcing the pass.

Agree with the first part.

On Reggie though, IMO he's just now getting used to being the feature back. He may be too winded?? Think he'll be just fine.

The thing with Reggie is he has the talent to go 80 yards a run. The problem is he can only do that when the defense expects pass first. Remember that he has been in a pass first program since High School, so it wasn't that he wore down, or the O-line didn't block well. Seatlle sold out on the run, and let us get the short passes in. It was Payton who continued to call Bush's and Stecker's number even though He knew Seatlle would be gunning for them. I want better playcalling.

Four yards per carry is a good play - a successful run. 2nd and 6 becomes wide open, and so does 3rd and 2. Three of those and we have a first down. Beautiful - in my eyes. It seems that Sean isn't satified with the slow grind. Its like sitting in slow traffic or being stuck behind grandma and can't get around her. He gets impatient and tries to "pass" in a no passing zone, putting Brees and his passengers in danger. Not every play has to make the highlight reel. We saw more of Mike Karney last week than we have since before to the NFC Champ game last year. He helped Reggie through some cracks, helped Brees' jersey stay clean, and was a significant part of the success that has been noticeably absent in previous performances. I hope Payton uses Karney's many talents again this week with Bush, Stecker, and Pierre Thomas.
