Fear the Saints?

Cut and pasted from Pro Football Talk, I know many do not like the site, but I thought it would be worth a read for you guys.

=====
FEAR THE SAINTS?

The talk in league circles is that teams believe that the Saints have worked out their early-season struggles, and that they'll be back with a vengeance as the season unfolds.

After the 2007 Saints fell to 0-4, we explained that the 2006 version of the team likely would have been 1-3 with that same opening schedule, with the only aberration being a loss to the Bucs in Tampa.

The difference between the last year and this year is that the 2006 Saints would have been hard pressed to put a beating on the Seahawks in Seattle.

Of all of the one-win teams in the league, the Saints are the one that folks believe can turn it around. They'll have a chance to move another step closer when facing the Falcons on Sunday.

I love that kinda talk.

Re: Fear the Saints?

So, if I'm following this correctly, Pro Football Talk predicted a 1-4 start for the Saints, only they thought the solo win would come from TB and not Seattle. So, since the Saints beat Seattle (which they didn't predict) then the Saints could even better than they first thought. Is that what they're saying?

Yeah we are the best 1-4 team in the NFL.

Ok, here's little something to cool your excitement about what this article says.

From an 0-4 start a team must go 9-3 just to go 9-7 for the year. IF they can pull off 9-3, they won't even be guaranteed a playoff spot.

They may be the best 1-4 team out there, but it is going to take a ton of things going their way to make the playoffs.

it's not looking by the play of the NFC EAST, that we'll be able to take the wildcard...we'll probably have to win the division outright, which means we'll have to beat eveyone we face from our division from here on out...who dat :P

I just gon try and enjoy the season. Some guys are already to prepare for next season which IMO doesn't make sense if you call yourself a fan. Yeah...we're 1-4. But until we loose 8 games...I still have hope. I've seen stranger things happen in sports.

I'm a true FAN.

I Love em when they win. I Love em (even though I don't like it) when the lose.

So I have faith.

One game at a time.

Go SAINTS Go!

I just think it's a good opportunity to let our young talent develop and get some playing time. Cause lets face it, we've got nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

I work with a guy who when the Saints lose I can't find him during the day, it's like he's hiding from me, but when we lose he's in the parking lot waiting for me to rub it in my face, funny thing is it that he says he's a die hard Saints fans but when the Saints lose he's the happiest employee in the hotel..
He said Brees was a bust when the Saints signed him, he rode me until Brees showed his stuff then stopped, then he started on Bush saying he wasn't much of a back but just an avg. RB..
I don't know Joe what makes some people love to hate the Saints are any team a matter of fact.
I'm still enjoying the win against Seahawks so I don't really care when some people bash the Saints, what's nice about this site is that all most all of them are big fans of the Saints, that's what makes me visit the site everyday.

As for Euph, he really enjoys being a critic but I have to believe he's a big Saints fan because why would he visit the site so often..

I agree with you about Euph. He's ok, I just like to rib him cause he's so pessimistic. If I lived my life like that, to me it just wouldn't be worth it. I know he says he's just being realistic, and most of the time he is. I just wish he'd take a break from running the team down for every little thing. I've been a fan since day one. Yes, at times I cuss them like a sailor but I still and always will love the New Orleans Saints.

Re: Fear the Saints?

Yeah being a Saint fan you get used to defending them. You get used to explaining why you pull for a team that has always performed avg or below avg. But it seems a little unusual to have to defend your team on its own website. This is our team there is no going back and redrafting or picking new players from free agency after we get to see how they play. I have no problem pulling for the Saints they are my team every year fans pull for 31 teams that are losers. Only one team gets to be the champions.
There is nothing wrong with predicting a loss for your team I dont think we will win outright. But with this team I do predict a winning record. Will that be enough? Only time will tell but all they can control is how they play. I would rather a 9-7 record that doesnt make the playoffs instead of a 1-15 record for the 1st pick in the draft which everyone will disagree with after it is made.

People like that are miserable. Like they say...."Misery loves company". Thats why when the saints lose he's happy...because he knows it makes you miserable like him. So don't give him the satisfaction of you being hurt by the loss. Just give him statements like "We'll get'em next wek"....It'll drive him crazy!

Some people are just looney.

Saints Win 27 - 17 ( I hate predictions, but since i'm bored...I made one).

Yep. The Saints really came to play today against the Falcons. That HOF QB Byron Leftwich, who hasn't started a game in 12 months, is really confused by our great D.

Yep. The Saints have really turned the season around . . . like . . . 360 degrees . . .

from Horrible to Terrible.
