Why would they consider moving

Why Would They Consider Moving Still?
I read an article where there still could be a chance the Saints could ditch town.. Havent we as fans showed our support since Katrina... Why would anybody say this, this really hurts, almost like losing a family member to hear news like this!! Can anyone clarify this or am I just jumping the gun!

To me it doesnt make since with the renovations to the dome, and the 2nd consecitive season of Season Ticket sell outs.. And Finally the whole country supporting the LA Gulf Areas,Why????

They still want a new stadium. All four governor prospects say the dome is good now after the renovations. Current deal goes through 2010. More to come...

Re: Why would they consider moving

A move would be about corporate dollars more than fan support. Benson was unhappy before Katrina and now these dollars are harder to come by then ever. I'm not saying I am for the move, but I've seen enough of how Benson thinks to know where this is going.

Unfortunately, if New Orleans as a city doesn't have a major corporate comeback, plus some, by 2010, you should prepare yourself that this team will bear the name of another city in 2011.

Simple, the Golden Rule, He who has the gold makes the rules. I'm sure there are plenty of cities that would build a stadium to get an NFL team.

Didn't Baltimore support the Colts, St. Louis the Cardinals and Cleveland the Browns? Only the city of Green Bay owns the team. If an owner wants to move there isn't much to stop them. The color of loyalty is green as in $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Sad but true.

JOESAM- You may want to read this interesting article by Jeff Duncan. To me, it doesn't sound that bad...

If I'm Benson I wouldn't want to leave Louisiana, just look at their fan base, IMHO he has the best fans in the NFL regardless if they're winning or losing, I can't say the same for most other teams in the NFL.

To a large degree, I agree with not building a new stadium. Yea, it would be nice but there are other things the state needs more than a new place just to satisfy Mr. Benson. I love this team and have been a fan since the announcment of the team. But I love the state of Louisiana too, and the people of Louisiana. I think we should think of them first, homes, jobs, food in their mouths. You know!!!!!!!! Fun things. If Benson can't see that and doesn't feel that way, then the state of Louisiana, doesn't need him. Get rid of him..........save the team. There are times when others have to come before you.

sam you do not get to be a billionaire car salesman by caring. The occupation alone tells you that.

YEP! It is true. Saints could be out-a here after 2010. Its all about the dollars. Benson has them, let's the GM know that he wants to keep them, and he wants more. The new govenor along with the state house/senate has to negotiate and agree on a new deal with Benson to keep the Saints in town. Louisiana has been supplimenting the Saints organization and has given Benson control of many of the ancillary profits of New Orleans Saints football. Benson is cheap! and we have supported his cheap production year after year because we love football, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS football. There is NOWHERE else he can go and get the support that we have given, year-in and year-out based on the success, or lack there of, of this team. WE LOVE Saints football. Benson loves money (but who doesn't?). Here in is our dilemma. Do we (LA residents) continue to feed Tom's insatiable appetite for more-more-more, or do we say "the hell with him, let him take his team elsewhere"? There are many cities that would take our Saints in a San Antonio second! And if we lose the Saints, in our "small market", we probably wouldn't see another NFL franchise come our way until 3010. Somebodys going to have to make a decision, and make it by 2010.

I agree with you Joe. LA needs more thing right now than another place to play football. After LA is taken care of and NO is back to normal, build a new stadium.
