Why Does Neon Deon hate the Saints so much?
Why Does Neon Deon hate the Saints so much?
This guy is sayin we haven't beaten anybody that has a winning record and our upcoming schedule is easy and he thinks this team is not real until we beat some one he considers for real. While part of what he is saying is true, we lost to the Colts decisively but the other games against Tampa and the Titans were winnable had we been on track as we are becomming now. We are finding our rythem in my opinion and when we play a team who is in deons words ...for real then we will be insinc and confident enough to play with charactor. Go to %$#@&*# Deon! Deon you a crack head.......... my opion only. |

Re: Why Does Neon Deon hate the Saints so much?
Yeah, maybe we haven't been beating that great of teams. But we have been playing together and looking good. Think about it: (excluding the Colts game) who beat us in the games we lost? Did the other team beat us, or did the Saints beat us? The answer: the Saints beat us. If we were not getting much better, we would still be losing to these terrible teams.

He played for the Falcons, and that why he hates us.

The Saints are certainly still on the media radar. You would expect that after losing 4 games at the beginning of the season, that the media would have dropped the team like a bad habit. But pretty consistently national media types have been picking the Saints to bounce back from a rough start. Since the Seattle game, the only pick against that I've seen has been Brian Baldinger on the NFL Network NFC Playbook show. And Stirling Sharpe did pick us to win yesterday. But I can be a real Saints fan and a realist at the same time. That's why I can understand what Euph is saying even though it drives most of you crazy out there on the forum. We're a good team with a streaky pass happy offense and a middling defense that has improved its run defense over the last year. Solid physical defenses that can generate defensive pressure with their front four and can cover receivers tends to shut the offense down. The problem is that that described virtually every playoff caliber defense in recent memory. It describes Indy, Tampa (now), Tennesee, and to some extent Carolina. It described Chicago last year, and J'ville also fits that mold. On the other side of the equation any offense with a decent OLine and an accurate QB with a couple of decent receivers will generally toast our secondary. We've seen that recently with Tampa and Indy. Both of these are the Saints' Kryptonite. And frankly there are NFC teams that have this formula right now. This includes Dallas and the NY football Giants. My problem is that Coaches Payton and Gibbs seem to be too stubborn to consistently commit to solving these types of teams. They've made some improvements but I still haven't seen it made into a formula when encountering these types of teams: 1) On offense, simply commit to the run. Even if it's 3 yards and a cloud of dust, run the ball. When playing teams like this, Brees needs to be on a pass limit (30 passes per game or less). Even if it's 3 and out, RUN THE BALL!!!! Why? It slows doesn the pass rush of the front 4. It makes the opposing LB think about what they need to do, opening up the middle behind them. It draws in the safeties into the box, opening up the deep third of the field. It gets the Oline in an aggressive fire out rhythm. It takes the pressure off Brees to be SuperMan. And most importantly it sets up play action to be really explosive. Finally each one of our RBs have shown flashes of explosiveness running the ball. However because they don't get enough run touches, the team never gets consistent production in the run game. See Bush's day yesterday as an example: 64 yards on 10 carries. Dude that's 6.4 YPC! Give him, PT23, and Stecker the ball more. Mix it up with more sprint draws and true screens along with the flat swings that Coach loves so much. Finally keep the Karneyvore out on the field. The guy is a nuclear weapon out there. 2) On defense, pressure is our friend. Seattle is one of those Kryptonite offenses. We shut them down by stuffing the run and bringing pressure from every direction. In general Freddy "GameShow" Thomas and to some extent Craft, Young, and MM are going to get burned anyway, so pressure the QB and hit him. Make the QB make bad throws. This works against everyone not named Brady or Manning. The Giants have like 30 sacks this season. They have made bringing perssure from everywhere an art form. We need to copy some of that art and continue to be stout against the run. But until these things happen consistently, we are who we think we are. We'll never get over that hump. And folks like Deion will keep calling us out. SFIAH |

I really don't care if he likes the Saints or not!!! If N O was 6-1 he'd be talking about how good they are. He, like all other "analysts", want to look like they know what they are talking about, so they are forced to be bandwagoners who change their opinions as needed.
