Outcoached by the old coach
Haslett takes Payton to school and then behind the woodshed. The O line is dazed and confused by Hasletts defense. The Saints defense fails to show up for the game

Re: Outcoached by the old coach
If the Saints “O” was able to move the ball with long drives than our D would have gotten the rest they needed, ANY “D” on the field longer than the “O” that team will lose – simple. Our “O” did not play the whole game the score only look a little decent towards the end. The lack of a power game still erks me

Re: Outcoached by the old coach
Believe it or not, I think the defense has improved on the running game, in particular between the tackles. But anyone, and I mean anyone, can pass against us all day long. And I mean effortlessly, to your hearts desire. Pass all you want, there's no worries here.
Seriously, I don't think we have much of a chance if that pass defense doesn't improve. |
Re: Outcoached by the old coach
I'm not surprised at all that the Rams are playing a good defence under Haslett. He was a good coordinator before which landed him the job as the Saints headcoach. Headcoach maeterial he is not but coordinator, yes.

Re: Outcoached by the old coach
I heard on WWL after the game, an interview with Has-Been, he said he read the paper last week and saw that Saint fans were booing their kicker, he said "that's how the people are in N.O and also the city"
He went on to say they we booed his QB (Brooks) before the game started too so he wasn't surprised to read about Mare. His wife and kids visit N.O but he said "he avoids the city but not the people", not sure what he was trying to say on that. He's seems very bitter with the Saints. I can't remember what he said about the LSU fans but he said something very similar about the LSU fans. Last night he went out to dinner in N.O and said the people there welcomed him with open arms and was happy to see that. |
Re: Outcoached by the old coach
This loss does not go to the coaches, imo. It goes to the right side of the offensive line, and the worst secondary in the league.

Re: Outcoached by the old coach
No team has ever started the season losing the first four games and then come back and win the next five.
It didn't happen today for the Saints. IMO the Saints will fire back next week, it's just ashame they didn't win today, they could have been tied for first place. Our first scoring drive sure looked good. |
