Draft Needs Now All We Can Look Forward To

No patience, and deservedly so. This was just the first in what will become a long string of inexcusable losses.

Clearly there's a lot left in the season, but with the loss to the worst team on the schedule, we can only anticipate a high draft pick, maybe even a top 10 pick.

There will be several quality corners.

LBs Dan Connor from Penn St., Keith Rivers from USC, Ali Highsmith from LSU.

CB Mike Jenkins from So. Fla., Charles Godfrey from Mizzou, and Chevis Jackson from LSU.

We should start making trades now so we can retool.

How about a guy who can actually coach defense? Our secondary looks so sorry that I'm starting to believe there's a more fatal flaw than talent alone. TOO many GAPING holes, too many blown assignments, horribly plays called on defense, and like caddy said, Gary Gibbs has absolutely no recognition skills and is about as sorry as I have seen.

Draft needs:
1. cb
2 lb
3.cb
4.lb
5. cb
6.lb
7. cb
If theres a round 8.....cb and lb.

P.S. I'm sick of seeing our cb's getting beat like little children.

I'm not giving up on them just yet, our offense will win some games for us as they did the last 4 weeks.
It would be nice thought if they could actually cover well for at least one game.

Me neither. I have accepted the fact we need to score 30+ points a game to win though.

Hell, I'm not giving up either but today they didn't look like a team with heart in the first half for sure. Brees throwing into triple coverage really wasn't the smartest thing i've seen him do. Got the ball intercepted by a linebacker. The offense just looked terrible, and I mean the whole offense. Wore the defense down by being out there most of the first half, knowing we were short 3 starters. I'd have thought that the offense would have tried a little better. Even the first touchdown might not have happened if not for pass interferance. These guys need to put the wole game together. You can't just play one half. That's why they have 2 halves.

It'd sure be nice to see us stop the pass once in a while. Jeez, these guys have no pass defense at all sometimes. I'm beginning to wonder if Will Mc is on to something here.

But I'm not giving up either. We've got good talent, if the inconsistentcy would just improve, we'd actually be a formidable team.

But it is what it is. Though I'd love to see us in the playoffs, I can't honestly say I believe we deserve to be there.

Well, the only time the offense looked OK was late in the game. Of course, too little, too late. Late in the game they went back to that spread formation that killed Jacksonville. Well, I am all for the Saints using their modified version of a run and shoot. They need to do that every week until it's stopped! As for the draft, gee, they can use help all over the field.

Not time for me to give up either. I saw this one coming. How long have you guys watched the Saints win the unwinnable and give back the gifts. Chalk up the late game success to Hasslett. We still have a longgggggggggggg way to go...and its up hill.

No one is suggesting that we don't cheer them on and hope for the best.

The unfortunate reality is that the Saints should have taken care of business AT HOME against the wounded and confused and not only didn't, NEVER looked like it could. A disturbingly flawed 0-8 Div III team exposed glaring weaknesses on both sides of the ball plus the coaching staff.

While losses by the Lions, Giants and Skins and Panthers somewhat mitigate this "effort," each of our next opponents have been gift wrapped the obvious gameplan to negate whatever the team tries to throw at them. Houston is actually a quality club with a solid defense playing with a week's rest and nothing to do but anticipate the Saints at Reliant Stadium. Follow that with another road game against a division opponent who's already beaten us up, the reality is that we may wind up losing another 4 consecutive games. And there's no easy win against the ATL on the road to break that slide.

The best we can hope for is to be spoilers, but considering that essentially no team left on the schedule has a realistic shot at the playoffs save for TB, who's season are we going to spoil?

I'd say this is a lost season. Come on April.

It might well be. I know we'll all be cheering for Brees next week, regardless.

But if there's one single reason I can think of to explain it, I'd have to say it was overconfidence in the abilities of Jason David. He's nothing short of an expensive bust.

If we were to throw in a Polamalu, a LB, and a shutdown CB, I bet we'd be discussing some very different results right now.

Wow we won 4 straight games... lost one and now we should think about trading players and anticipating a high draft pick. Amazing.

Though the Rams were 0-8, the we battling injuries all season long and w/o Bulger and Jackson for parts of the season. We lost to a very good offense that's finally getting healthy.

We're 4-5, and the division title is still within our reach. So is the possibility of 9-11 wins. There's plenty of things to look forward to in the upcoming months, but the draft isn't one of them... at least for me. Winning this division is.
