Re: Bush Misses Practice
Pierre Thomas? Don't think so. Look for another 40+ pass plays type of game.
Sean Payton does not, will not, shall not run the football. He'll learn as a head coach to be patient and mature. |

Re: Bush Misses Practice
I look for Pierre to play more this week. I hope he does. I'd like o see what he can do. Sure we're going to be pass happy, that's Paytons modus operendi. But I can always hope, can't I? I haven't given up hope just yet,but if we lose this weekend, yikes. Look at the sad assed game LSU put in yesterday. Our boys need to come to play tomorrow.

Re: Bush Misses Practice
I wish they would use a dual role with Thomas and Stecker both playing, if Bush is out for most of the game.

Damn, I sure hope you're right. I'd like to see that too.:phat: |
Re: Bush Misses Practice
Steck 13 car. for 42 yds.
Bush 9 for 32 PT 12 for 32 We can't run with anyone |
Re: Bush Misses Practice
Still don't know why Bush is always in a single back offense when he runs and doesn't have the blocking of Karney. Just doesn't make any sense to me or is it fair for Bush.

Re: Bush Misses Practice
It doesn't matter that the yards are spread amongst 3 players, we rushed for 106 yards by our running backs and won. I think there is a lesson in there somewhere.

Re: Bush Misses Practice
You guys tell me......did it look to ya'll like the offensive line didn't block as well for Pierre as they did for Reggie? It sure looked slack to me most of the time.:phat:Maybe it's just he didn't follow his blockers due to lack of playing time and not knowing the schemes.

Re: Bush Misses Practice
OMG!!!
I knew it would happen, just not from you... "The Offensive line didn't block as as well for Pierre as they did for Reggie?" They're professionals... He's not that good... Hence, undrafted... Hence, never plays... That's it! |
Re: Bush Misses Practice
You're both interpreting it incorrectly.
We ran Pierre Thomas every down to run out the clock. Carolina sold out on the run - as they should. When Stecker and Bush ran, there was still a passing threat. Pierre Thomas aside from 1-carry was only used at the end of the game to kill the clock. That's why it was harder for him to run. |

What's to be learned is: A consistent offense is acheivable if there is a bit of a running threat. The running threat doesn't have to win the game, but it should still be used. Sure, fun and gun works sometimes, but when it doesn't it leads to a grossly inconsistent offense. Sound familiar? Our Yards-Per-Run average would have been higher had we not tried to run out the clock in the last quarter. As I've said above, we stopped passing and Carolina stopped defending the pass. Our running game was really, really effective today. |

Re: Bush Misses Practice
PT ran hard in a tough spot, 4th quarter with the lead. Biggest thing to me was he did not fumble, protecting the ball is #1. Good job PT, hope to see more of him in the 1st half next week
