Damn, nice Benson. I mean I am the first one to bash Payton's playcalling, but I love that Benson is standing up for his team.

Both views seem valid to me. The team does need to know that Benson stands behind Payton. This is important so a young coach can get his squad to buy into his program.

Trust and judgment are inexorably tied. While we can shout sorrow over certain choices, expecting perfection from anyone can render our own judgments suspect.

I'm amazed, however, that Mr. Benson can be so circumspect. Wisdom can be accrued with age.

Payton's handling of the team in every way this season is poor, whether it's the play calling, off-season acquisitions or standing by players (Mare and David) who needed to be cut or benched a long time ago.

Maybe he deserves the editorial, I for one thinks he does and that's my opinion.

Bad play call yes but no way I want to see Sean leave, he's a dame good football coach and it would be a huge mistake to fire such a coach as Sean Payton...
Time to move on and forget about that play because it's done with..
