Knight In Shining Armor
Sammy Knight was allowed to leave via free agency and take his 28 career ints. over 6 years to join the Dolphins. His foot speed may have been questioned and therefore replaced, but his tough play and bringing his A-game every week can not. He joined the Dolphins with an opportunity to compete for a starting safety position with Arturo Freeman who was the incumbent. Today Sammy was named the STARTER after only one week of training camp and before even the first preseason game. The Dolphins will play more zone this year than the Saints intend to do, and in their schemes he will shine. I am not saying we haven't improved at that position. Most posts suggest he was replaced by Tebucky Jones when in fact it will be Mel Mitchell playing the safety position Sammy has played the past few years. AFC wideouts better buckle up all snaps to those chin straps when they play the fish as they will be welcomed to Sammys neighborhood when they arrive. Upon retiring he will not wait long before being inducted into the Saints hall of fame. Shine on #29!
