Briggs to test Free Agent market
Briggs to test Free Agent market
SI.com - NFL came up on S.I hope somebody can post a better link Do the SAINTS go for him? Or the better question WILL the Saints go for him. |
Re: Briggs to test Free Agent market
We can only hope. We need a Drew type of captain in the LB corp to lead the defense. Sam Mills was the guy way back when. I am not saying it is him but we need to do a Drew type of investment on that side of the ball.

Re: Briggs to test Free Agent market

well as I said at the start of the season when he was a hold out
I would love to see him dress in black and gold but what is the price tag |

BUT, I think the coaches see a tremendous hole there and the only way to fill it is with $$$$$. Draft Lariunitis and sign Briggs!! |

I have to say that I worry about guys like Briggs and Samuel being products of their environment. First off, how many Pats players have gotten big contracts and ended up sucking? And Briggs has Tommie Harris, Urlacher, etc...that's gotta help. |
Re: Briggs to test Free Agent market
I have no doubt that Briggs and Samuel are the real deal. The fact that both were franchised by teams that normally let loose players that are demanding high salaries should say enough about their talent.
However I don't think the Saints have a realistic shot at signing either one of them. Most of our cap money is going to be used to re-sign Smith and MM. |
Re: Briggs to test Free Agent market
I think the price tag is gonna be too high. IF we woulda either let charles grant go or sign him for less then maybe, but as wheel said we gonna have to resign smith and MM.

Well Im pretty sure his hold out in the preseason led to a stipulation in his contract. If I remember correctly when he signed his franchise tag going into this year and decided not to hold out it was only cuz the bears agreed not to tag him again after the season. |
Re: Briggs to test Free Agent market
His daughter's momma could hurt his chances at landing a huge payday. She claims that he is not supporting his child, and that he impregnated two other women that caused their relationship to end.
I have no clue on how much of this is true, but it does raise a red flag on his character. I am also not sure if this allegation would hurt him in free agency, but I do not it doesn't help. If all is good, he would be a nice upgrade for the Saints. |

Very good point '76. I would think that a scumbag that doesn't take care of his kids would be a hotter issue to fix than some of this other crap they are fining players for. |
Re: Briggs to test Free Agent market
depends on the details dude. till I hear more I am not going to believe early reports. Lets see some hard facts first.
