Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
Look, I wanna be with the sunny side of the street guys. But I am having a hard time getting there. I know, I said, I know that many B&G members are really smart. They know their stuff and so I respect their opinions. So please tell just how we win this one. (No pun intended) Bear in mind this is da Bears season so far:

Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
When does playing for a cold weather team start to pay off dividends? What I'm trying to say is if the Bears draft a player out of Florida who has never seen snow when is home field advantage apply to that player. How many years does it take for that player to gain a edge over the other team? What about the flipside? Stecker is from Wisc how long of playing in a dome before he forgets about playing in the snow since peewee football? What about P T? This game is in Chicago and he went to college in Illinois. After one year in a dome is he useless in cold weather now? What about the BoilerMaker at qb? After all that time in beautiful San Diego does he remember how to play in the cold.
Really just curious if you draft a kid out of Miami or Phoenix how long before they benefit from the Frozen Tundra? And if a dome team takes a kid out of Alaska how long before they are useless in the cold? |
Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
OK this is hypothetical I aint goin to the Bears website to look up any specifics. If you had to choose one of these two players which would have the advantage in a home game for the Bears in December?
1)Bears rookie born and raised in Miami and drafted from a Florida college. 2)Saints rookie grew up in Chicago and drafted from an Illinois college |

Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
34 degrees is not cold weather. stop crying about it. It is a day game to boot. Big difference between night and day is the sun. Clouds or not. This is football weather.
Now M&M that makes a difference. But you got a so so WR and a young QB. That helps us alot. The Bears front 4 scares and LBs me more. |
Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
Yes Hagan, weather not a factor unless it is windy. Then, Drew will have to run the ball some more. I think this is a show-off day for PT. Da'bears defense does scare me (I love Urlacker). Offensively, the bears will run and attempt to throw at the Jason's, but hopefully KK is back in and stop the deep routes.

Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
The Bears 'O' is so bad.... even OUR defense should look good in this game.

Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
I hope we lose

Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
.. I may be missing something here, but the schedule that you post clearly shows more Bear losses (9) than Saints losses (8). What am I missing here?

Our defense will look good with a complete make-over, a new D co-ordinator, and no quarters coverage. Even Kyle Orton can throw on our DB's, I just hope KK will get to play and maybe U Young will step-up. |
Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
I have to say the Bears offense, the week before last, was the worst offensive outing I remember seeing. And I've been a fan a long time - Saints fan, no less - so God knows I've seen some pitiful offenses.
But the Bears the week before last... wow, that takes the cake. KK and Young should have a field day. |
Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
FYI, listening to 870 today and the forecast is in the thirties with wind, rain, and snow. i havent looked it up, just going by what the radio guy from chicago said. Ya'll are right perfect weather for us.

Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
I'm just looking forward to seeing Pierre Thomas and Usama Young get to start and get some real playing time..... that's about all I can look forward to in this game.
Also I hope KK gets to start, at least he will punish a receiver after he catches it. |
Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
The score is Chicago 19, New Orleans 17. There are six seconds on the clock and New Orleans has used it's last time out with the ball on the Bears 5 yard line. Martin Gramatica trots onto the field, the snap, the hold, and WOE, Gramatica slips on his butt and never gets the kick in the air. Saints lose a heart breaker...
Later in the day: Denver upsets the Minnesota Vikings 20-7, and Dallas manages a 4th quarter comeback engineered by Brad Johnson to defeat the Redskins 28-24... Now, that's about how it will go... LOL |
Re: why this GAME is gonna be a disaster?
