Drew and the record books

Brees completed 30 passes against the Eagles, moving him into second place all-time on the NFL list for most completions in a season with 408. He needs 11 more in Week 17 to pass the Oakland Raiders' Rich Gannon for the NFL record.

It shows that with all the injuries we still competed. It is not like 90% of those came in blow out games. Go for Drew.

Re: Drew and the record books

He would have the record already if we didn't lead the NFL in drops.
Don't forget: Without a healthy Drew, we win 2-3 games, max

Re: Drew and the record books

If there is a guy on this team that deserves recognition, is Drew, even in the form of a record that for all purposes is meaningless.

Speaking of dropped passes: I never gave too much credit to idea that if the ball hits the receiver’s hands, he ought to catch that ball, because there are many occasions when the ball is thrown horribly (way behind the receiver, or too high, or too low) that merely being able to touch the ball constitutes and athletic feat by the receiver, but I can honestly say, I have never, ever, in the span of 4 decades of me watching the game, seen so many balls hit the receiver right on the numbers (especially on the numbers 1 and 9, not that I want to single any one player in particular  ) and the receiver just drop the ball; or get the ball in front of the receiver at eye’s level, and still have the receiver drop the thing.

He'll have that record by the 2nd quarter.

Well the record is not a given. Drew still has to turn up and deal with a Chicago "we are all expecting you to pass" Bears.

But Drew Brees has been incredible. I mean INCREDIBLE. If you stop for a while to work it all out, the team, the experience, the personnel, the play calling, the honorable we won't run up the score in the 4th Q plays, INCREDIBLE

It's actually a bad sign for a guy to be setting single season passing records when it comes to either attempts or completions. This usually means the team was overall pretty bad.

And he needs 3 TD passes to knock AB off the top spot for the team single season record.

You know, we always seem to be hearing about new offensive records being set. Not just us, but all over the place. NFL has changed the rules over time, making it easier for offenses and tougher for defenses.

I wouldn't want to be a CB in the league these days.
